Hello, I am Ellie and I am the founder of Cobbled Streets which is an online marketplace dedicated to support small businesses and creators found in Norfolk, UK. I launched this business a year ago as I've always wanted to challenge myself and support locally where possible. With lockdown taking place, I thought it was the most amount of free time to figure out what I wanted to do with myself and I'm amazed my business is still going - (I know I shouldn't say this but you never really know how a business would go).

Site looks great, but in my opinion the width should be more uniform from block to block.

So the way the summary block isn't as wide as the splash image above, and the plant pictures below are even narrower. I'd think to make them all even, or as close to even as possible so they follow the green lines moreso than the red ones. This also applies to the sections/blocks below. But. this is just my opinion. The site still looks beautiful!

Beautiful beautiful site and I will definitely be back as a customer! The only thing I noticed was when I clicked on the Free Delivery at the top of the page, a page popped up and said,
"We couldn't find the page you were looking for. This is either because: There is an error in the URL entered into your web browser. Please check the URL and try again. The page you are looking for has been moved or deleted. You can return to our homepage by clicking here, or you can try searching for the content you are seeking by clicking here."
Besides that it had loads of beautiful pictures, great content and even better prices. Hope this helped and I wish you the best.

    Hello,
I've recently updated the home page on e-commerce site and would appreciate a separate opinion as I feel like i'm getting used to seeing it/running out of creative juices, what do you think about the new layout? I want to make it as enticing as possible to make the customer's want to explore more of the website and boost conversion rates.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

Ecold got a reaction from Jo_SQSP in Feedback on business site for pet products
Hiya, just had a look at your site:
    - what is a snuffle? it might be worth adding a small description of what it is and how it can benefit your pet under the 'custom enrichment for your pet'.
    - the pop up announcement, the text is hard to read so you may want to change font colour as it blends into the background but I love the button!
    - home page: it might be worth reducing the font text as it can be a bit overwhelming on a laptop. It might also be worth reducing the margins when looking at the laptop screen because at the moment, your pictures and text fill the whole screen and it makes a bit hard to digest what's going.
    - Do you think gallery is essential for the header bar? You could do a 'commission with us' tab in the footer and link the bulk order photos and 'contact us' form.  For the products with the pets, would this not be featured on your social media?
    - It might be worth adding 'Contact' under 'About Us' and then on the 'Contact' page, add a form for people to fill out which would then automatically be emailed to you.
    - I'm based in the UK so I don't know if this is relevant but you may need to look into having a cookies & privacy policy page if you are handling people's information and accepting payment.
Good luck with everything and I really like your logo!

Also, Free Delivery should be on the product page (no one cares about the delivery fee until they are thinking about buying) the center one redundant, and what is "join us?"
I wouldn't have the pale candle image first - there are so many images that are much more interesting.

I am much more of an expert on online shopping than web design, but I found this page hard to figure out. There are a lot of words, plain buttons that give no idea of the types of products, a LOT of space devoted to a blog, and then an article.  The images on the page link to articles when I was expecting them to link with products. All uppercase text is hard to read and it's shouty.
I would be more likely to shop if you talked less and showed more. The top line is unnecessary and redundant. So are the words "GIFT SHOPPING." The buttons are not helpful, very dull, and they take up a lot of space.
This is rude, but I don't want to read your blog.  Most space on the homepage is devoted to it.
It may be because I am not from the UK, but I didn't understand what "Shop Commissions" meant. I also didn't understand "CHRISTMAS READS"
The site's aesthetic  is very different from most of your products. There are a lot of different fonts too.
The three column format for "OUR GOALS" is hard to read.

menu:  Our Artists   Shop   About Us
Make the blog an item on "about us" and get rid of the "artist of the month" and "product inspiration" submenu items. Make "commissions" a product category instead of giving it a spot on the main navigation.
dedicated to discovering new artist and finding the perfect gift (link to the home page
Images - a product summary with images would work and every image will link to the product which links back to the product page.

Here are some quick thoughts that I hope are helpful. As a reference (for you and anyone else reading this) here are two screenshots - firstly, the "above the fold" content that I see on desktop...

and here is the mobile homepage...

The entire screen is a "wall of words", and this requires users to think. The first law of usability is "Don't make me think!" Attractive, relevant images and fewer words may help to convince visitors that the content is worth viewing.  Reduce the noise and avoid unnecessary use of capitals. Everything on the page is in block capital letters and is clamoring for attention. This can be overwhelming, especially for visitors with dyslexia.  Allow users to disable cookies. Users may be concerned because the site is not GDPR compliant. They will be tracked if they click on any of the links. Offer a reject option (in addition to the OK/accept option) in the cookie banner. The announcement bar content is distracting and takes up too much space. Remove everything except the free delivery message. Place the other links on the navigation.

Nice website, and great job with your products!🌟
I don't have a lot of improvements as I think the site looks good, but have you thought about making a more personal logo? There are tools online you can use, just search for "Logo maker". I know Squarespace have a logo maker too that you could try.
Regarding the table I'm not fully sure what you mean.
    Good luck!

    Hello,
I like the navigation on your website.
    1. I definitely agree with adding short text on your first page as it's not clear who you are, why you draw, etc. It's hard to connect to you and make us want to buy your artwork (even though I am v. much enjoying it).
    2. On the 'Prints' page, I would definitely appreciate to know the sizing at first glance rather than having to click into the print.
    3. If you can, it might be worth adding more commission work examples.
    4. Lastly, I'm not a massive fan of the loading logo. I really like it as the opening scene to your website and I love the concept, but as it happens on every click, it can be a bit tedious after a while.
Good luck and best wishes selling your artwork.

@monocle.jasmin - thanks for your advice and opinion. Totally understand where you are coming from and have updated my site based on this. Who / what would you advise as a good 'above the fold' example to be? and where did you discover the orphan words so I can correct them please? Was it throughout or with products, etc?
Also, I just had a look @ your website (based on your post). I viewed it via my computer and you might find the advice I was given earlier,"on my large monitor the images gets too big because of the full width", useful - up to you. I imagine it looks great on a mobile but could be too much on laptop/computer uses.

Hello, just had a quick look - overall it's a good website.
'About' section, you should add a bit more of a background story, e.g. how you got into baking, why you love it, etc so your customers can relate. Make sure to check with alignment, idk if it is just my screen but where 'Why choose Onxy Lab?' is, all the text is not aligned with each other. Definitely recommend adding a block on your home page that is linked to your instagram so people can keep update with your most recent stock and see how your cakes appear, esp. if people have special requests (and it means you wouldn't need to constantly be updating your website to fit in with the endless possibilities) Checked your social media, links work well but definitely start thinking about building up your social media before launching the website.

Totally off topic, how did you add a username to your fb business page? It keeps saying I'm not eligible? I can't figure out if it's a glitch or I haven't fulfilled a certain criteria.  Good luck with everything 🙂

Oh yes, agree. This was on the cards, you didn't know cause I never said anything in my OP I double check alignment, showing ok in most responsive dimensions when i view it in developer mode in Firefox. Ill check again As yes, sure! One of my questions i had. Since I haven't started making the cakes, I will def. add a instagram block 🙂 Sure Great tips! Thanks!

Also I just created a business facebook account through my personal facebook and assigned /onyxlab.cakes as onyx.lab was taken. I assume it just happens to be my username?
