Tiny_Coast reacted to SEOSpace_Henry in How to Improve site speed?
Hi @terrenwoakes,
Site speed on Squarespace is something that lacks behind compared to the competition - there are only a few things you can do here.
Ensure all images are <250kb - SQSP recommends 500kb, but to help your page speed as much as possible, I recommend <250kb Check for and remove/fix broken links Remove unnecessary fonts or custom code - if someone else built your website, they might have put unnecessary code in that's slowing down your site Embed videos as YouTube videos, rather than adding them directly to Squarespace Use Accelerated mobile pages - all you need to do is navigate to “Accelerated Mobile Pages” in “Settings” >>> “Blog Preferences” and then check “Use AMP" Feel free to checkout the below video if you want to see some of this in action. Remember, site speed is just one ranking factor, so don't worry too much!

Tiny_Coast got a reaction from NerdvillebyJenMaher in How do you like to use Not linked pages on your website?
In my experience, unlinked pages work well for creating pages with a very narrow focus that you may want to use for campaigns. Because of the duplicate feature, it is also an opportunity to test performance by creating a few pages with different messaging and creative assets when you are using paid ads. Under the SEO tab for each page, you can also toggle the button to "hide page from search results" if you are running a limited or seasonal campaign and don't intend for the page to show up in search engines.

Tiny_Coast reacted to studiofounded in My New Photography Website
Hi @Chris1603,
My recommendation is to build on your branding — create a logo, font, and color palette that is uniquely you. The branding looks a little generic, but you have a lovely photography style, and I think that working on your brand's visual style will help to really show off your work!
It looks like you are still adding content to a few of the pages. You can hide them in the Not Linked section until they are ready to share publicly.
Your can also add Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policies to your footer to improve credibility and trust with site visitors.

Tiny_Coast reacted to djshiflet in What visual element do you think makes your website stand out the most?
I would say good typography is key!
From my perspective there is so much detail you can get into when it comes to assigning your font sizes, colors, and hierarchy. It also looks very professional and creative when done right.

Tiny_Coast reacted to madseason in 2FA for members area?
Hi,
I was curious if anyone knows if there is a way to have 2FA installed when logging into the members area?

Tiny_Coast reacted to studiofounded in Please critique my new website!
@Nikkan I would move your copy to the top of the page, so it's clear what you do. Jumping straight into the images is a little confusing!
I also recommend using more copy, it will help to connect with your audience and give you a boost in search engines to improve your discoverability.
Lastly, it's always a good idea to include pages for your Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy in the footer.

Tiny_Coast reacted to Parker_SQSP in What's new at Squarespace - December 2022
We’ve been collecting updates all month. Here’s everything that happened at Squarespace in December! We’ll be back in the new year with some more updates.
Squarespace Scheduling
Auto-fill client details in invoices
Instead of manually adding information, your client’s details autofill into your invoices further simplifying how you get paid. Just note, details can be auto-filled only for clients who have booked an appointment with you, not invoice-only clients.
Learn more about invoicing for Scheduling.
Redesign: Client List page
You’ll notice the Client List page has a new look to streamline some features. You no longer need to go to the client’s details page to view their email address as they’re now surfaced on the Client List page.

Websites and domains
Asset Library: A hub for your site’s photos, videos, and files
A new Asset Library panel has been added to your Home Menu. Rather than managing your digital assets (like photos, videos, and files) through uploading locations, the Asset Library provides a centralized place for you to view and manage assets that you use throughout your site.

Reuse your page sections
Have a page section that you love or use often on your 7.1 site? Favorite it! You can now favorite page sections and reuse them throughout your site, whether it’s a Layout Engine or Fluid Engine page section.

Tiny_Coast got a reaction from grantlantalawn in would love any feedback on my site and would especially like to see yours as well!
Hi Grant,
I love the graphics you are using - i think they are really fun and memorable. The one thing I will comment on is that I had to dig a little to understand what it is you do. I think that could be made a bit more clear with a slightly updated layout. Aside from that I think you have all the elements there - awesome brand, clear services, great testimonials.

Tiny_Coast reacted to Kaxel in EDIT: Now Resolved - Issue with selecting and deleting text due to new highlight feature pop up
I'm currently unable to highlight a paragraph of text and delete it. There appears to be a new feature that is promoting the ability to highlight text. Each time I attempt to select the text I'd like to delete, the pop up reappears.
There is likely a simple solution that I'm just missing, but I'm stumped. How can I get the SquareSpace pop up to go away for good? I've tried clicking "skip" and the other buttons - it still continues to popup. Link to show issue: https://share.vidyard.com/watch/vdL2N9zXcuFohWmLA6dq16?
EDIT: This issue has now been resolved.

Tiny_Coast got a reaction from tuanphan in Animated gradient / smooth background transition help
Hello! I tried this out and it worked great, thank you! So far I've applied it to my homepage (see link below).
https://tinycoastdigital.com/
Perhaps this is a silly question, but I was hoping that maybe the animation would only go from the top of the page to the footer. So rather than continuing, the animation stops at the footer and only resumes if you scroll back to the top of the page.
Does anyone know if this is possible and how it might be achieved? Thanks so much 🙂

Tiny_Coast reacted to Rusticus in Animations and fluid engine
Is this feature coming back in the future? I for one really like the text to have no animation but the images to have an animation. Now this is not possible with Fluid Engine, I'm stuck with either/or.
And is it the same with Lightboxes? I can't seem to select a Lightbox for images, which is very usefull with smaller images.
Thank you.

Hi all! I just got an email from squarespace showing off their new features and one think i really liked was that as I scrolled down, the background automatically changed from beige to green to blue to black. Not gradients, more like brief automatic fade. You'll know what I mean if you click the link I provided.
In googling this, it sounds like there were code based things that could be done to make gradients within blocks (not what i wanted) and other changes, but I haven't seen the code for this specifically. I'm actually really hoping that with this update that it's not code based at all, and just a setting, but I went exploring and couldn't find anything.
If you wouldn't mind taking a look at that link and then helping me out I'd really appreciate that, it's such a cool look! Thanks!

Tiny_Coast reacted to shellieboo in Animated gradient / smooth background transition help
Sure,
For the animated gradient, at the beginning of the code, change ".css-selector" to ".section-background" See the first four lines of the original code below for where it appears (and of course change the collection to your block id).
#collection-60ea7161025aa46e30e0a38a { .css-selector { background: linear-gradient(270deg, #cfadea, #9b51d5, #7b658c); background-size: 600% 600%; -

Tiny_Coast reacted to shellieboo in Animated gradient / smooth background transition help
Site URL: https://lime-wolverine-672z.squarespace.com/
Hello!
I am trying to figure out how to create an animated background on my (trial) site. I tried the most referenced option -
https://www.gradient-animator.com/
and set the id to my collection background:
#collection-60ea7161025aa46e30e0a38a { .css-selector { background: linear-gradient(270deg, #cfadea, #9b51d5, #7b658c); background-size: 600% 600%; -webkit-animation: AnimationName 30s ease infinite; -moz-animation: AnimationName 30s ease infinite; animation: AnimationName 30s ease infinite; } @-webkit-keyframes AnimationName { 0%{background-position:0% 50%} 50%{background-position:100% 50%} 100%{background-position:0% 50%} } @-moz-keyframes AnimationName { 0%{background-position:0% 50%} 50%{background-position:100% 50%} 100%{background-position:0% 50%} } @keyframes AnimationName { 0%{background-position:0% 50%} 50%{background-position:100% 50%} 100%{background-position:0% 50%} } }
I've also tried this code to no avail and set it to each section background (this is currently up):
section[data-section-id="60ea7162025aa46e30e0a4bd"] .section-background { background-image: linear-gradient(100deg,#3874ba,#edccc9) !important; background-size: 400% !important; text-fill-color: transparent; -webkit-text-fill-color: transparent; -webkit-animation: Gradient 10s ease infinite !important; -moz-animation: Gradient 10s ease infinite !important; animation: Gradient 10s ease infinite !important; } section[data-section-id="60ea7162025aa46e30e0a4bb"] .section-background { background-image: linear-gradient(100deg,#3874ba,#edccc9) !important; background-size: 400% !important; text-fill-color: transparent; -webkit-text-fill-color: transparent; -webkit-animation: Gradient 10s ease infinite !important; -moz-animation: Gradient 10s ease infinite !important; animation: Gradient 10s ease infinite !important; } section[data-section-id="60ea715052638457540dc335"] .section-background { background-image: linear-gradient(100deg,#3874ba,#edccc9) !important; background-size: 400% !important; text-fill-color: transparent; -webkit-text-fill-color: transparent; -webkit-animation: Gradient 10s ease infinite !important; -moz-animation: Gradient 10s ease infinite !important; animation: Gradient 10s ease infinite !important; }
Am I missing a code block or class id? Do I need to have a business plan for the animations to work? Or are my eyes deceiving me?
Here is my site: https://lime-wolverine-672z.squarespace.com/ and login is pine212apple
Thank you for your help!
