kevinpatrickrobbins got a reaction from RhiRhi in Save Page Templates
SQS 7.1 has a number of solid page templates, but I often create pages in a specific layout with sections and copy according to different needs, such as a lead page with PASTOR copy or photography portfolio galleries. I would love to be able to save a layout and reuse it across the site, and even across multiple sites.
"Duplicate Page" is an okay workaround, but being able to create and save a landing page template would save me and many other designers HOURS of work.
Or, please just create some lead page templates and add them to the page templates when creating a new page.

Why is "allow AI crawlers" opt-in by default?
This is troubling for every photographer with a website on Squarespace and SQS is getting a TON of negative publicity about this, rightfully so.

Additionally, when I edit a page in Fluid Engine, I do not get "Insert points" to add new content into an existing block. This makes layout design extremely difficult!

Is there a way to turn off the new fluid engine business? There are a number of issues with it:
- (biggest issue) cannot drag blogs between sections anymore. This was the only way to duplicate a block previously (duplicate a section, then drag the blog from new copy into the original, because we SILL cannot duplicate a block)
- the dragging and resizing is extremely unresponsive, at least in Chrome
- the options to change layout between desktop and mobile aren't great, because they don't apply to everything. For example grid spacing is unified between desktop and mobile, which makes it difficult to make things look good on both
Overall, this feels like a beta version, and can I please turn it off somehow and not be a guinea pig?

I'm a longtime Squarespace user, and I'm looking to throw together a quick one-page site for a not-for-profit that I run.
I logged on this morning to make it, and found that... everything has changed? I'm referring, I gather, to "Fluid Engine". I had already been adept at using 7.1, but suddenly lots of stuff looks different, and making anything is hard.
I'm sure that once I get used to it it'll be wonderful blah blah blah... but in the meantime I'd really just like to make a quick new website, and not have to re-teach myself the fundamentals of Squarespace.
Is it possible for me to "turn off" Fluid Engine?

THIS 👆 please please make Fluid Engine optional!! A toggle on/off …there are many features which have the *potential* to be great, but for so many reasons we are begging to give us the option to continue to work on 7.1 as it is.

Building multiple galleries and this is so GD annoying and time consuming. I'm about ready to move to another platform over this, and I love SQS.

We're in the process of upgrading/migrating to 7.1 and this issue STILL EXISTS in 7.1. This is just one of the reasons we might consider migrating to a different platform like Shopify instead.

+1
I'm rejigging my site into a new template and it's 100% easier to re-upload all the files than it is to select them, one by one, from the Squarespace file manager. It adds up to a huge waste of my time when I have a project that shows 30 images that I have to dig out of my own computers' archives OR spend approx 1 minute each looking for the already uploaded files in the Squarespace file manager. I hope this gets fixed as it's a glaring oversight, enough that I bothered to google a solution, found this thread, logged in here and commented about it! Agh!

kevinpatrickrobbins got a reaction from JonathanPenner in Multiple Basic Grid Blogs with Different Aspect Ratios?
I amj ust running into this issue. I have a podcast for which the cover art is 1:1 and I am launching a YouTube channel for which the thumbnails are 16:9. It is incredibly mind boggling to me that I cannot set these two blogs to have Basic Grid layouts with different thumbnail sizes.
Why are blog settings like this global when everything else in 7.1 has been converted to much more granular settings?
