Amaya_SQSP got a reaction from Francescomux in Do you use Member Areas for freemium content?
Paid newsletter subscriptions and premium gated content access are quickly rising as one of the best ways for bloggers, writers, artists, teachers, and entrepreneurs to sustain themselves as business owners. A successful business that relies on memberships usually does so because they already have an audience primed for their offerings. But, what if you don’t have an audience yet? Some creators use memberships and Member Areas as a way to offer freemium content and test the waters. Generally, freemium content is content that is offered for free to early adopters of your subscription membership. It takes time and effort to turn those free subscriptions into paid ones, but it’s not impossible to do!
According to the service Memberful, a great first step is to be transparent with your members about your story and invite them to be partners with you in your journey to paid content. Other recommendations from Business Collective are:
Offering special rates for founding members Offer promo codes  Avoid cognitive dissonance by putting a price tag on content that was already free Still offer some free content that is different from content for paid subscribers Do you offer freemium content? Translation:
I'm stuck on Squarespace. Terrible service if you're below the equator... I'm writing this in Spanish so Latinos can see it.
    I've had a thousand problems.
Non-existent technical support. (I drag platform issues that just never responded)
Half of the integrations they offer do not work in the South of the globe.
They charge you for everything and even if it fails, they continue to charge you.
Cannot access or connect to other platforms.
Anyway. If you read this, and you are in the south of Mexico, do not pay for a year of this service. NOT WORTH IT... USE WIX OR ZIRO...
I think that this forum has many of the answers to any problems you may have, in additon to Squarespace Technical Support. However anyone who needs help needs to do a few things to help the helplers so to speak.
    1. Post the site url including a password if needed.
    2. Let us know if you need code and or if you have any on your site now.
    3. Be very specific about the problem, in other words what is it not doing you want it to do or what is it doing you don't want it to do.
    4. Realize that sometimes a problem is caused  by  not using the configuration platform properly or to its full potential.
    5. Be patient with us folks here, sometimes we have to go to the lab to figure things out.
    6. And most of all remember that in the tech world nothing is perfect but can still be pretty good.

First off your domain, not your website is hosted with a third party. An ip address itself cannot contain malware, the site the ip is connected to can. But if it did it would not matter if the domain was hosted by the website hoster or a third party, all who have a site there would have malware, all Brine users like yourself would have a problem. I don't and I have two sites on the same template and my malware protection does not see any problem. In other words it seems to me  you are getting a "false alarm" from the software you have posted a screen shot of.

Folks. The other thing to keep in mind is what is the credibility of the tool you are using that is giving you this information. Please be aware that there are many tools that make all kinds of claims. Are they trying to sell you some product or service to protect you? Perhaps they are not legit and trying to get your info to scam you in some other manner. Be a cautious and informed consumer.
Even some of the more "reputable" tools out there use FUD ( fear, uncertainty, and doubt ) tactics to get you to buy more expensive versions of their tools that you may not need.
To be clear there are real threats out there but reacting to one report is premature. You need to build up some credible evidence.

It is now possible to add an accordion menu or FAQ to your site without custom code using the accordion block! We have some information about the possibilities and customizations available for the accordion block in our guide "Accordion blocks."

It is a lot of effort, but I do think one of the best things you can do is offer something of value. That may come in the form of tutorials, discounts, free trials, information, engaging content, etc).
It is important to establish what your audience finds valuable, and when (do they need a free trial to consider purchasing your product, or a discount to encourage them to buy from you again.
Different people are likely at different stages of the buyers journey and have different interests - so digging into web analytics, social comments, sending out surveys, or doing some of your own experimentation can help you determine what kinds of offers / content to offer your audience at different stages of the buyers journey.

Real community engagement is a long term game, according to the writers at The Social Shakeup. This especially true of social media, as holding the attention of your audience and having them contribute positively to your community takes time, effort, and showing up with interesting and useful content daily. Clicks and shares are important, but more and more social media algorithms are prioritizing interactions and saved posts in order to surface the most relevant content for audiences. So, how can you engage your community and promote your brand at the same time? Here are some tips from The Social Shakeup:
Get to know your community and interact with them on their preferred platforms Ask questions and ask for feedback Promote user generated content  Host contests Connect with them emotionally  Tailor your content to your audience’s interests  How do you engage with your community? Thanks for posting your question!

This error is caused by an issue our end, I'm sorry for the trouble. Unfortunately the Development Server does not support the ARM-based architecture your M1 Mac is using.
I made a record of this for our Engineering to review, however I do not not currently have an ETA for this implementation.

Feel free to post in the thread if you have any additional questions!

Amaya_SQSP reacted to GlynMusica in Tips for getting started with Google Ads
    @Jo_SQSP greetings
setup tracking first - before you run any kind of campaign or marketing activity make sure that you have every commercially interesting touch point on your website setup for tracking. This means email addresses, telephone numbers, dedicated form submit URLS that you can capture as form-sends, you can also setup your most important pages as Intent triggers. This means for example if you have a page that contains your contact address you can trigger that page as a goal.

    To put this into context
If you run a Google Ads campaigns without tracking you will know that people arrived at your website. This makes it impossible for your to distinguish between browsers and people that are interested in your product/service. If you deliver a visitor to the website and they go through your website and also spend time on your contact page, you can determine that they may have a high interest in your business. You can then create AUDIENCES using Google Analytics either against Google Events or against Goals which then allows you to create remarketing campaigns. What's more if you have some logic to what you are capturing you can segment your audiences.
    For example:
I know that everyone in Audience X has shown an interest in my company so I will setup and run a Google Ad with an offer, or with a link to a piece of content on my blog that is going to provide these people with a greater understanding that I am a real person and my company can be trusted.
    🙂

CAC (customer acquisition cost) is a metric that I use for my ads, and it helps me calculating how much I can spend on ads, for every new customer.
Let's say the average revenue from each customer is $100, your CAC should ideally be $30-40. This means you can spend $30-40 in ads for every new customer.
In Google Ads you can easily track this with their conversions-feature, and see how many new subscriptions and purchases you get from your ads.

Amaya_SQSP reacted to Jo_SQSP in Accordion Block: Dos and Don’ts
Accordion or collapsible menus are considered one of the workhorses of web design for good reason. They’re a versatile tool for text heavy pages on a website, like those showcasing a list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ), and they also help keep your pages short and reduce scrolling fatigue for your readers. They can solve potential design problems, like too much content or too little real estate on the page, and they can provide an intuitive direction for users to explore the information that they need and collapse the information that they don’t.
In Squarespace, if you’d like to add an accordion menu to your site you would need to use an Accordion Block. Accordion Blocks have their own styling options that you can customize to get the look and feel you want for your site. If the available customizations don't cover your needs, our community member Tuanphan created a handy list of useful code for the Accordion Block.

Are you planning on using the Accordion Block? Do you already use one on your site? What are your best practices for the effective use of an accordion menu? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below!

    Hi @tchandler,

Thanks for posting this question! As @creedon mentioned, the way to hide the homepage link from the primary navigation would be to move the homepage to your "Not Linked" section. This does not hide the page from public view or from search engines. If it is set as the homepage, the domain will always direct to that page. Additionally, your logo image or site title functions as a link and always directs to the homepage as well, unless you've added custom code in order to redirect this. So, even in the "Not Linked" section, your homepage will always remain visible to the public, just not in your primary navigation.
