  1. Just seen the Squarespace's announcement about new commerce packages, tools and feature and was hopeful that this would be fixed... I'm not holding my breath. Spoke to someone from their customer care team and they didn't even know that they'd made an announcement. I had to send them the link!
  2. Hi @paul2009, Just wondering where you heard/read this as I've just been in touch with Squarespace's customer service to ask if they had an update and they said they had no knowledge of any impending changes to the Tax/VAT settings. I'm hoping that the customer service rep just had the wrong info....
  3. I'm sick of the backend limitations with Squarespace's eCommerce settings. It's bad enough I have to manually work out the sales tax on each order for my accounts as some of my products are 0% rated and others 20% which makes my VAT returns a nightmare. Now I'm stuck on shipping rates being the same for every order. I've just built a passworded wholesale shop page and need the shipping to be different because of the amounts ordered are far larger than a regular retail customer has. I'm seriously thinking of swapping out to a shopify commerce plan when my plan is up for renewal!
  4. Hi Pawan, I'm currently building the same thing on our website and had the same issue. My workaround is to put the price -VAT in the title name the buyer will have to pay the VAT and claim it back anyway so it's just a matter of having the sales invoice/basket showing the VAT at the checkout stage etc. which it will. 😉 As to the issue @colin.irwin raised about regular customer being able to see it and add items to their basket. I've made put these these pages in the "NOT LINKED" section within "PAGES" so they don't appear on the site when browsing and then made it password protected so I can issue our stockists with the link and password and they can shop as normal. Hope this helps! 🙂
  5. I've got the same issue with my site/store. I've contacted Squarespace on a chat and they've raised a feature request with their product and development teams. But the more people that ask for it the more likely it'll end up happening so it might be worth raising one as well.

  7. This would be a massive help to me too. Most of our products are confectionary and have 20% VAT on them. However we also sell hot chocolate which counts as a beverage ingredient like tea and coffee which are all 0% rated for VAT. I'd just spent the about half an hour trying to find out how to change the VAT on items before I used google and found this post. At the moment we only have the hot chocolate on the website but I'm currently building the products and pages for chocolates to go on and could do with getting this sorted sooner rather than later really. @paul2009's workaround is ok but not sure how it'd work if someone just ordered 0% items if it won't trigger shipping. Ideally Squarespace need to add a VAT button/toggle within the "Edit Physical Product" page on the "Pricing & Variants" tab. Squarespace is great I love it over Wix as it's generally easier to use for someone that's not a professional web designer or coder, but this is a fairly basic thing to get wrong on the e-commerce side as a lot businesses will sell things that are on different levels of VAT or Sales Tax etc.
