    not going to do much by asking Squarespace here on the forums for a feature that is crucial/essential to running a business. you need to log in a ticket and make the request there so they see it. they have mentioned before they do not really monitor the forums for feature requests.

    based on the posts here in the forum about the Members Area, it looks like it wasn't thoroughly beta-tested before release. so many shortcomings and missing features.

    unfortunately, Squarespace is limited in this capacity in that you can only create discount codes ONE by ONE and manually. you can't upload or create discount codes in batches, nor can you edit existing discount codes in batches.

    you can generate a discount code for just one customer by setting the limit total uses to 1 and customer limit to 1 also. you can give it a descriptive name like, 25% off - Customer Name.
    unfortunately, with Squarespace, you set discount codes one by one. the Discounts section/area could be better too, and it would be nice to be able to batch edit discounts.

    what you can do is create a text file and put the Google drive and/or Dropbox link to the file. zip this and upload it to the corresponding digital product on Squarespace. when a customer orders the digital product, they will download the text or zip file that contains the download link(s). do this for every digital product you sell on Squarespace.

    @LilianLVB - unfortunately, the discounting feature on Squarespace is not that advanced. you can't do discounting the way you described.

    THIS! It took me all but 30 seconds to switch back to the old editor when I tried the new editor back in November. It was TERRIBLE! There is nothing wrong with the old/current editor so I wonder why in the world they would want their customers to switch to the new editor that is clearly so dumbed down, so buggy, and offers a poor User Experience as @JPalm pointed out. If it's not broken, why fix it?!?!?!? There are TONS of new features and enhancements Squarespace could add to the Commerce plans -- features that many have asked for over the years and yet they seem to simply ignore those valid requests for features. No wonder many are leaving Squarespace and/or regretting ever signing up.

    @JRBrick - right now, it appears like buying the gift cards from yourself is the only option. it's ridiculous, though. you shouldn't have to buy from yourself in order to generate gift cards you intend to use for promotional purpose or for donating to a cause. but that's the solution i was given by Squarespace customer care several months ago. right now, i do discount codes + a free shipping code when i'm doing giveaways.

    If Squarespace allows the manual creation of gift cards, it might be possible -- and you'd have to create the free gift card manually. As it is, as store owner, you can't even use gift cards as a promotional tool because you'd have to buy the gift cards from yourself  -- the "solution" I was given back in May when I asked why I can't create gift cards to give away (which, IMO, was a ridiculous solution).

    no, this is not possible. you can email them the file, though, or send them a link where they can download their customized file.

    @paul2009 - just a note that the link to the Squarespace news - https://sf.digital/squarespace-news - that you have on the page (in the first paragraph) is a dead link.

    you can put the product in its own shop page and then password-protect it. that way, only those who are in your email list will be able to buy your product. you can give them a timeframe (e.g., a week ahead of everyone else) to buy your product and then after that, you can move the product in the store page where you normally have products listed.

    Squarespace is simply an e-commerce platform, so it will not intervene on your or the buyer's behalf. You deal with disputes yourself. Sounds like you need to insure packages you ship out so that when a buyer files a claim due to damage, you can at least be covered.

    Unfortunately, I've read so many times here that SS doesn't really read the forums. If you want a feature or something, you will have to log a ticket with their customer care support. Frankly, I'm surprised SS ignores so much of what's going on in this forum because it's a HOTBED of insights as to what their customers want and need, and how they can make their platform, especially the Commerce plan, so much better. They market themselves as giving you the tools to create beautiful websites easily -- and I agree with that...my site/store is so much better than any of my previous stores BUT if you look under the hood, it falls short compared with competitors like Shopify. So many things on the backend that could be fixed/improved/added that would make Squarespace a truly great e-commerce platform, but unfortunately, from what I've observed, they seem to be in their own world.

    I've done this with a few products in my store. What I did was create a folder (for organization purposes) that's not linked. Then inside that folder, I created a store to contain products I don't want to show in my main site.

    I have requested this feature from Squarespace months ago. I'm quite surprised that manual order creation (as well as creating gift cards!) isn't a feature here when it's a feature in most e-commerce platforms.
    Like @flatlander - I get around this by creating a 100% discount code + a free shipping code and ordering on behalf of my customer (who has already prepaid -- I would have sent them a Paypal invoice to complete their purchase). I use their email address so they will receive an order confirmation receipt.
    @PrairieSchoolCoffee - with a 100% discount, you will not need to enter credit card info. You will simply enter the code when asked for credit card info and it will zero out the total. The order will go through without charges.

    Paypal and Stripe are the only 2 payment gateways you can use in Squarespace natively. You could also look into using Shopify Buy buttons on your site.

    @paul2009 - I don't expect perfection. I have been doing business online since 2000 and have plenty of experience using a variety of e-commerce platforms. So I have a pretty good idea of what features are essential and should come built-in at a price point and what features are acceptable as extensions (and therefore I can expect to pay). If I had come across your list of missing e-commerce features on Squarespace back in May, I would have gone with Shopify instead.
    But back in May, the 2 glaring features (for me) that were missing with the Advanced Commerce were: the ability to create orders manually and the ability to manually create gift cards. In fact, while I was on the trial period, I went back and forth with customer care about these 2 missing features and asked why they weren't just there.
    Then there is the missing wishlist feature -- I found out that if I wanted to have a wishlist, then I can't have a shopping cart. It has to be one or the other. Shopify and my old e-commerce platform (heck, most other platforms out there) have a built-in wishlist to help make customers' shopping easier. (Plus being in the industry/market that I'm in, I used to run promotions wherein my customers would submit their wishlist links and they get to win products from their wishlist.)
    Then there's the crippled subscription feature. Why would there not be a way for me to manage subscriptions and see all the subscriptions I currently have? (As a workaround, I have decided to go with MoonClerk because at least I'll be able to manage subscriptions and even let my subscribers manage theirs.)
    Then there's the fact you can't edit orders. In my previous e-commerce platform, I was able to remove/add products on an order and add extra payments made by the customer (if it warrants it). If a customer couldn't check out easily online, I would give them another way to pay (check, money order) and then I would manually create an order for them with payment pending -- that when I receive their payment and it clears, I can go in and change the status of their order from payment pending to pending shipping.
    Also, you can't message customers from within the Squarespace admin, something I was able to do in my old platform. If I needed to refund a customer, I would go in her order, refund the amount, and then include a message for her. If she has an account, she would login, find her order number, and then respond from there. In Squarespace, there's no way for me to do that. If I needed to refund a customer, I'd go ahead and do it and then go to my email client, find her order #, copy her email address and start a new email to let her know what the refund is for. (I had recently made a request to customer care if they can add a memo field -- even for just 25 or 30 characters -- in the refund box so the customer knows what the refund is for.)
    I can list some more but I'll stop here.
    At my old platform, the cost for all the above features (and more -- I can go on) is only like $3 more than what the Advanced Commerce costs. But again, the folks over there have stopped developing and/or have lost interest in making further improvements and while everything is still working over there and they still have many existing users, I feel it is only a matter of time until they stop offering the service and tell store owners to find another platform to sell. I had a long talk with their customer service too and she was upfront with me -- and that's actually what prompted me to start moving to a new platform. I was testing 3 at the same time: 3dcart, Shopify, and Squarespace.

    .products.collection-content-wrapper .products-flex-container .list-grid .grid-item.sold-out {
      opacity: 0.5;
