  1. @VUELA Wanted to make use of this on my client site and found that it works perfectly to create the button. However the jquery .insertAfter function only allows and items to be placed immediately below the item in question. How would you place it to the immediate right or left on a responsive page?
  2. @octopus Thanks for updating this answer. Delay works great now. The main reason I wanted to have a delay was to host an image over a background color with a progress bar showing the page loading. I thought I could achieve this by placing a child class in the div class you recommend and setting the style to fixed with a higher z-index, but this does not seem to let the image show. The progress bar is another thing altogether.
  3. @octopus any further luck? In the article is reference the setTimeout being able to set that minimum time on the page. I guess that was "similar" to someone still learning JQuery and JS.
  4. @octopus Is there a way to make a minimum time of the loader screen visible for even if the page is loaded? Also I would like to use static image rather that the GIF URL you provided. I found something similar to this on Stack Overflow, but I am not a jQuery or JavaScript coder, so I am having a hard time plunging it into the code you listed above. The callouts would need to be modified, but this is what they have: $('.m_top').click( function(){ var name= $(this).attr('href'); $('#c_area').html('<img src="images/loading.gif" alt="Wait" />'); setTimeout( function() { $("#c_area").hide().load(name).fadeIn("normal"); },2000); $("#myDiv").html(''); return false; });
  5. Just to throw something into the mix, I noticed the other day on the CSS window that the custom files says "Files and Fonts." Can you upload a .ttf file to make the font available on you site this way?
  6. It it was put in the global header wouldn’t it effect the load on every page? I am trying to find a way to do this only on load for the landing page. Where else could you put the code?
  7. Is it possible to create a loading animation to display while the content on a homepage is loading? And is there any standard graphics other than a progress bar that are quick and easy to implement?
  8. This feature is built in to squarespace in the lightbox option. Here is the info on light box from gallery: http://help.squarespace.com/guides/using-gallery-blocksPay special attention to "Step 4."
  9. Anyone know if this can be used to for a background image?
  10. @silvabokis I am not to aware of how to use jQuery and the YouTube API. This is the code they are suggesting to add: function onYouTubePlayerReady(playerId) { ytplayer = document.getElementById("myytplayer"); ytplayer.addEventListener("onStateChange", "onytplayerStateChange"); } function onytplayerStateChange(newState) { alert("Player's new state: " + newState); } And: function onytplayerStateChange(newState) { if ( newState == 0 ) { /* load next video */ } } I am not sure where this goes or how to bind the video to link to the next page however.
  11. @alanhouser I fully understand those components. I am trying to use the BG vid as an intro to the client's site, then advance to the main homepage. I was able to get the video only play once with the sound on, but When it ends, I need to push to the next page.
  12. This is all great. But what if the video is an intro? Is there a way to automatically advance to a background image after the video completes? Or easier yet I can set the back ground image with the following code: <style> body:not(.collection-type-index):not(.collection-type-gallery) { background-image: none; background-image:url('http://static.squarespace.com/static/yourfile.jpg'); background-position: top center; background-size: cover; background-attachment: scroll; background-repeat: no-repeat; } </style> This image can be revealed after the video plays if there is a way to hide the video AFTER it plays. Anyone know how to do this? -ALSO- What if you want BG sound for your regular website to play after the video ends as well? If we are loading to a new page this isn't a concern unless we are just hiding the played video. I would prefer to advance to a new page after the video ends.
