Workaround for Subscription Price description

When I make a product a subscription product, the way Squarespace phrases it is really confusing. Does anyone know the code I could enter to change the way this displays, to say make "2 payments of $XX". Also - can the second subscription be set to a specific date rather than 'after 3 months' as students register at different times, and I am looking at consistency of payments at the start of Term 1 and Term 3. All advice welcome - complete novice at websites here!
