  1. It's all good. You helped me with this: Thank you so much!
  2. Tuanphan you are the best! I spent much time trying to find a way to solve this problem. The code you shared solved it. Thank you so much for your great help!
  3. Thank you for your reply. If I am creating a hyperlink as part of the text there is an option in the "Link Editor." However, when I input the source URL in the "Blog Post Settings" and I activate the "Link Post Title to Source URL" there is no slider or option to open the new window in same or new tab. Therefore, it seems like not ALL links have that option. Hence my question, is it possible to have all my site's hyperlinks open in same tab in Squarespace 7.1? Thanks.
  4. Hello, Is it possible to have all my site's hyperlinks open in same tab in Squarespace 7.1? Currently, links, including source URL links in posts, open a new tab. I prefer all links to never open a new tab. Thank you so much for your help!
  5. I really enjoy visiting: https://www.loopinsight.com https://shawnblanc.net https://daringfireball.net http://www.marco.org What I like about these sites is that they are content-driven, and they purposefully do not have bells and whistles flying all over the place. There are no pop-ups, no videos starting when you visit, and no over-the-top web design fads. Their advertising is unobtrusive. In addition, they are so sure of their content and that the visitor will return that their hyperlinks do not open new tabs. These sites have a minimalist look and they are easy to navigate since there is not a bunch of navigation folders or link hierarchies. In these websites, their blogs are the focus. They keep their site updated and fresh, but not to the point that you are overwhelmed with content. You can tell there are real people with real life demands running these websites. Their joy keeping these websites running and sharing their thoughts with the world is very apparent. When visiting these sites, they feel like I am talking to a friend who is telling me about something they read or came across around the internet. Not only do I enjoy visiting the above sites, many times they lead me to other great sites and content. Some of the content is original, other is from other sources but they link to those sources (the post titles themselves take you to the external links) , h/t (hat tip) if they read it somewhere else, and they make relevant comments on these external posts. I like how each blog post takes you to the place of origin and somewhere near the title you will always find the ∞ permalink. I really like the Squarespace feature, "Link Post Title to Source URL." However, I wish Squarespace could have a way to make all links open in the same tab, as well as a way to have the ∞Permalink show up next to the post title. I really enjoy using Squarespace because it is so useful, elegant and intuitive, and those two things (permalink next to post title and open all links on the same tab) would make it just amazing! Update: Tuanphan kindly shared a code on how to make all site hyperlinks open on the same tab. Here is the link.

  7. I have also been experiencing images going missing. At one point I thought there was something wrong with the images I was uploading. I, too, wondered that perhaps the images size were too large, so I compressed them. This still did not solve the problem, and I have continued to experienced images disappearing —even images that Squarespace has as placeholders disappear sporadically.
  8. Hello, I want to place a "permalink" (permanent link) at the bottom or top of all my blog posts. I am using Squarespace 7.1 Business Plan. Currently, I have a work around where I add a text box and manually add the permalink (URL that is intended to remain unchanged) to each individual blog post. As you can imagine, it is time consuming. Wordpress has a feature where the date of each blog post leads you to the permalink. So even if the title is an external link, the date next to it always serves as the permanent link to the blog post. This site is a great example: https://shawnblanc.net Thank you so much for your help!
  9. Hi Tuan, I notice that the custom CSS you helped me with makes the entire space around the date also clickable. Therefore, the CSS does do the trick to make the post date clickable, but it also makes much of the area around clickable. Do you know if there is a way to make the post date itself clickable. WordPress is able to easily do this, most of the times the WP themes themselves automatically make any post date clickable as a permalink. Many of the Squarespace 7.0 themes also did this. I feel that 7.1 has many fundamental components missing. Thank you for your help. Any knowledge about the above will be greatly appreciated. I am leaning towards going back to WordPress and I am trying to weight my options. I like the simplicity, elegance and clean interface SquareSpace has but there are many fundamental components that are either missing or never implemented for example, a clickable post date and giving the option to create a permalink icon next to the post title.
  10. Thank you very much for sharing this. It works! Do you know how I can have the search open in the same browser tab? Right now when I click on the search bar icon a new tab opens up on my browser. Thank you!
  11. You rock! That did the trick. Thank you so much for your help.
  12. Thank you for your reply. I have not solved it. I have the Business plan. I really appreciate any help on this.
  13. Thank you for your wonderful help! You gave me a great way to work around it. Much appreciated!
