Hi, i came across this site https://inscapewebdesign.com/free-squarespace-hacks/checkout-button-appears-after-clicking-add-to-cart they have a CSS script to solve this issue. i used it and it works perfectly. Hope this will help you solve your problem.

I am in the same situation as well.. seams Squarespace isn't made at all with Europe in mind!!!!😤 Guess we have to switch to another platform
