Limit number of subscriptions?

I am setting up an online store for my site. I am a small, subscription-based service. When I add a product and change it to a subscription product the ability to change inventory goes away. I want to limit the number of subscriptions coming in so I do not get overwhelmed. How do I set the number of subscriptions I am able to fulfill?
