  1. Our weekly worship service video is in 720p at 16:9 and is livestreamed to YouTube for viewing there. A .jpg image (1280x720 pixels at 420 pixels/inch) is appended as an introductory graphic. When viewed on our YouTube page, it looks like this: Next, the YouTube URL of the video is pasted into our Facebook page for viewing also and correctly looks like this: However, when I use a Squarespace video block and paste in the YouTube video URL it looks like this: On Squarespace the graphic is way out of whack and the video itself is letterboxed. On YouTube and Facebook there is no letterboxing. Here on Squarespace this is not a problem with other of our videos posted elsewhere and which do not have a similar graphic. So I think there is something wrong with the graphic's aspect ratio or size or something which is causing the distorted appearance and the letterboxing. I'm stumped and not the most knowledgeable about how a graphic and video interact. But there's something about it that Squarespace does not like. When creating this topic I tried to supply the "Site URL" as requested, but I don't think it was accepted by the system: https://www.christlutheranhendricks.org/worship-service-videos Help!!!!! 2. Whoa, IT WORKS. Just minutes after posting my message above, I deleted the previous video block and inserted a new one, then pasted in the YouTube video URL as always and SUCCESS. I also found an email response from Squarespace customer services: "Hey there, Thank you for reporting this! The trouble you were experiencing with adding video has been resolved, so you should be able to add videos to your site without issues this time. Apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused. If you encounter any further issues or have additional questions, please let us know. Ervinas D."
  3. 1.) I am not trying to embed, just simply paste in a YouTube URL as I have done many times before and as is shown on the .jpg images I included in my post of last night. I have tried both the shorter YouTube URL and the longer URL that appears in the video's longer YouTube browser bar URL. 2.) I'm sorry, but I have no idea what you mean by 7.0 and 7.1 and Avenue. I'm just a volunteer who helps with our church's website and not deeply knowledgeable about Squarespace. I simply want to have the pasted-in Video URL work as before. 3.) You are right, last night I discovered that tinkering with previously inserted videos elsewhere on various pages can leave an empty video block. That threw me into a small panic. Pasting in YouTube URLs as usual does not work on any of our website pages that I tested, so it's not a problem unique to just a couple pages. Thanks for your assistance. A zillion people must be having this problem if it is system-wide for Squarespace. Fortunately our parishioners will be able to watch this week's worship service directly from our YouTube channel or through Facebook even if Squarespace is failing us now.
  4. Thank you for your research and insight. Please keep us posted. Thanks! ✌️
  5. having a similar problem. My YouTube URL isn't been accepted, that is, I enter it and nothing happens. Older videos are where they should be and "play." However, URLs are not accepted in new video blocks on any of our website pages. Can we keep each other posted on any fixes, please? I have messaged Squarespace about this but apparently their online help is closed Fri-Sat-Sun. Maybe we can help each other out??? Thanks very much. - Paul
