I was able to hide it using the following code in the Page Header Code Injection of wherever the newsletter sign up form is.
<style> .newsletter-form-footnote { display: none !important; } </style>
Hopefully that helps most of you out!
As a bonus, this also happened to make the UGLY sticky reCAPTCHA logo disappear that was showing up on the right hand side of my websites.
Oh, and as a sidenote, this will make ANY of the footnote text disappear in your newsletter form, so hopefully you can live without that for now during this weird time in the world of Squarespace 🤪
Thank you so much, @belhum. It perfectly worked on my site.

I have noticed the same message appearing on my website. I have contacted the support email and asked them how I can remove it. Hopefully they will offer a solution!
Please share the update once you hear back from Squarespace, @Spennie.
I got in touch with them through live chat and this is what I got:
The good news: they told me the duplicate message is something they're aware of and working on getting fixed.
The bad news: there's no way to get rid of the message nor customize it.
They've sent a feature request on my behalf, hopefully they'll consider it seriously. Clearly, we're not the only ones annoyed by the new update's unwanted message display.

Hi,
Starting today, my website started showing the following message in the footer:
This site is protected by reCAPTCHA and the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply
In blog posts, the message actually appears duplicated:
This site is protected by reCAPTCHA and the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply
This site is protected by reCAPTCHA and the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply
I don't even use reCAPTCHA for verification, but the message still appears. In the blog posts the second message appears when the related content plug-in loads, so I take it it has something to do with it.
I didn't make any substantial changes and the message appeared on its own.
Anyway, the message interferes with the user experience. I would like to put it somewhere else, translate it and customize it. Anyone knows how to get rid of the message or hide it? I want to include my own privacy policy message, according to my site aesthetics.
Thank you so much for your help!

Hi,
I'm trying to find a way to customize padding / margin on my default search page.
It looks good on desktop, but I need to adjust it for mobile as the search field is quite close to the header.
This is the page I'm talking about: https://www.don-viajes.com/search
And these are the screenshots for both mobile and desktop:
Thanks!

Hi @paul2009,
Tried your code but it's not working on my site. Until earlier today, @arlo's code was working on mine but it stopped all of a sudden. I guess they're still working on the update.
Just out of curiosity... is your code still working on your site? If that's the case, I have no idea what could potentially be different on mine.
Thanks!
