    Hi there,

    A client has constant contact and we had to set up a zap to capture email signups on the SS newsletter form that's on many pages and on the blog signup page.

    Is there a way to circumvent this? We haven't seen this on any other sites we've built and wonder if it's new? When we try to disable it, we get

    Disable reCAPTCHA?

    At least one verification type is required for Squarespace Email Campaigns. To disable Google reCAPTCHA, Confirmation Email will be enabled.

    But we aren't using SS email campaigns -any ideas?

    Thanks!

  2. Hi all,

    Is there a shortcut on how to potentially pull in the first 1-2 sentences of a blogpost in a preview without having to do it manually? We just did a massive import from wordpress into SS and this is an issue - trying not to have to do this individually for 400 blogs. I've included a screenshot below - the red square is around the content I want to automatically pull into every blog on the blog homepage .

    Thx!

    hi all - you can see from this WIP site when you click on the blogs - the green header disappears and snaps back on occasion. We did a wordpress import which has caused us hours of issues but hoping this is an easy solve.

    Have any of you come across this?

    Thanks so much!

    The URL issue is a common concern. If the titles remain the same but the slug is different you may be able to add a URL redirect like this:

    /old-blog-name/posts/[name] -> /new-blog-name/[name] 301

    Thank you! Yes - the url mapping is a headache bc there are almost 400 blogs.... sigh.

    Good to know on the unpublished bit - thanks again!

    I've not seen the unpublished issue before. It may be worth running this past Customer Care to see if this is normal or a bug.

    Yes.  I have used the Pro version for years and use it daily.

    I went to them and unfortunately they are in Ukraine and unavailable. I feel awful for them!  @paul2009 We successfully moved the blogs over from Wordpress to SS via the importer but our issue now is the URLs don't match up (trying to figure out if there is a way to do this easily vs 1x1 ) and there are about 300+ blogs. In addition, the blogs came over as unpublished and to get them to publish to the right date requires a 1x1 publishing of each one manually. Do you have any tips here? If you have an easier/faster way to do this I'd love to bring you on to help. Thank you!!

    Hi all,

    We're in the process of working on a new site  to replace a WP site. I know there's the ability to migrate blogs from WP to SS but we are unsure how much is involved from a manual standpoint and we are trying to accurately project how much time will be involved. Do any of you know:

    • if images transfer over (blog header image as well as images/videos inside blogs)
    • if URLs automatically transfer over
    • how much time is typically needed to complete this process (approximately 75-100 blog posts)?

    Thank you!

    Hello,

    I am working to import a Wordpress blog (only the posts) to a new Squarespace website (https://hyperboloid-sepia-82f5.squarespace.com/) and I have followed the instructions listed here: https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/206543957

    Both times I chose the Advanced option and exported only the "posts" from the Wordpress backend and downloaded the .xml file. The first time I did all posts. The second time I did all posts since January 2019. Both times I got a "success" message as you can see in my screenshots below.

    However, these posts are nowhere to be found. From my understanding they should be in the unlinked pages area... however there is nothing there.

    I would really appreciate any help you can provide.

    Thank you!

    @skyviewwe are about to do this for a client next month and I have no idea how to price this - can you LMK how long this process takes? Are you carrying over the images as well? Also what's the URL mapping like? Thank you!

  8. We have a client who has a rather extensive blog on WordPress and wants to move her blogs to SS. We haven't done this yet and I'm trying to figure out how much work this is. She has about 1000 blogs which seems insane so we might want to cut them off to be the last 2 years worth of content. Can anyone weigh in on how much work is involved here to keep the same URL string, etc? and uploading images?

    Thank you!

  9. Site URL: https://thefavoriteco.com/

    Hi all,

    I have no idea what's going on. I suddenly see lots of direct traffic in GA going to this url: http://www.thefavoriteco.com// (I don't know where the extra slash is coming from in the URL or why there's so much traffic to it/ and time spent on page).

    Has anyone had this issue?

    I just found this post and maybe it's the same issue?

    Thanks!

  10. I am just getting to this thread and my head is about to burst. It doesn't appear that SS accepts the new G- GA ID vs the traditional UA-  GA ID.

    I then plugged this into code injection to replace GTM:

    <!-- Global site tag (gtag.js) - Google Analytics -->
    <script async src="https://www.googletagmanager.com/gtag/js?id=G-XXXXXXXX"></script>
    <script>
      window.dataLayer = window.dataLayer || [];
      function gtag(){dataLayer.push(arguments);}
      gtag('js', new Date());

      gtag('config', 'G-XXXXXXXXX');
    </script>

    I'm assuming I've now messed all of this up! Anyone? SOS 🙂
