my site uses the maple theme which is part of the brine family, because of this it is supposed to have ajax loading/lazy loading of images. The ajax loading works properly on normal pages, but does not work on blog posts, this is especially clear when viewe on mobile, the images on the blog load slowly because there are so many high resolution images that are all being loaded out of order, so even if the viewport is at the top of the page, resources are being used to load images at the bottom thus making image loading at the top very slow

I only have the squarespace personal plan, I know that there is a lazy loading plugin available for plans with code injection however I would prefer not to upgrade just to get lazy load when it is supposed to be included.

How can I make lazy load/ajax load work properly for blog posts on the personal plan while using the brine theme? it is my understanding that this is supposed to work automatically and is a bug. Is there a work around without upgrading?

SS 7.1 doesn't support Gallery Block in PAGE.

It only supports on Blog Post.

To bring back Gallery Block, you can use this plugin. I'm using it on 2 sites.

Can you please clarify something for me- I do not want to use gallery block I don't think unless I misunderstand what gallery block is

I simply want to put a summary block that shows my most recent blog posts on another page in 7.1

How do I do this?

What template are you using? You can create a summary page using  summary blocks in 7.0 (seems to not work in 7.1) which allows you to thumbnail all blog posts on a single page.  It may take more than one summary block on the page due to a max amount of posts per block but you string the blocks together.  Like this:

(there are different grid layouts you can choose from)

One you build the summary page,  move the blog page to un-linked, so it is not on the nav bar, the summary page takes its place.

I have read somewhere that if you are using 7.1, the workaround for no summary blocks in pages is  you create a second blog with one post  and put your summary blocks there with content from you original blog posts. However it only imports the title of the blog, and you will need to add an image and description, if I understand how it works (or doesn't work) correctly. 7.0 still has more to offer to those who want more control over the design of their site, in my opinion.

How do I go about making the second summary block display the next batch of posts? ie- if the maximum blog posts in a grid is 30-

The first summary block contains posts 1-30

How do I make the second do 31-61

The third do 62-72

fourth do 73-103

etc etc?

That Makes sense, however I cannot find Summary Block in the insert menu in 7.1 at all

Where do I locate it?

I am using 7.1 and trying to insert a summary block- I do not see the Summary section in the Insert menu described by the squarespace documentation

How do I insert summary blocks in 7.1?

Thank you for this! Are you aware of any other solutions such as an external plugin or css based work around? This is the only feature I would need Business plan for and would prefer not to spend so much extra money just for this one simple feature that is included in all of the other slideshow galleries

I am trying to make Slideshow Reel autoplay in a photo gallery -frustrating as all of the other slideshows but this one already have autoplay

Is anyone aware of a workaround? Do I need to have the business version of squarespace to enter custom CSS for this or is there a workaround for the personal version?
