I am switching back from SS7.1 to Photoshelter or PicFair. I like my website as it is on SS7.1 but the selling of prints is a royal pain in the @$$ . I haven't managed to find an ideal shop extension or layout that suits. My previous website was created by RedFrame but that became cost prohibitive for the services offered.

My layout was originally Barbosa with a load of changes. Apart from the cost difference between SS and PS what was your reason for looking to change?

ShortAngryViking reacted to JSPhotography in Selling digital prints on Squarespace doesn't work?
I'm attempting to set up a website to sell digital prints of my photography. However, I'm finding that Squarespace's ecommerce options don't provide me with what I need (I think).
Ideally, I would like visitors to be able to add photos to their cart directly from my Gallery Page. Attachment 01 is a snip I took from another website that I came across that is similar to what I'd like to incorporate into my website.
As of now, I would have to number each picture in the Gallery Page (Attachment 02), and then add corresponding numbers to each digital product on my Store Page (Attachment 03). This is far from ideal.
Also, when I add each photo as a product on the Store Page, the product page does a weird crop of the photos, so the user can't even see the full image that they are purchasing.
I'm looking for any kind of help - anyone have similar issues? Workarounds? Another option that I'm not considering?
    Any help at all. Thanks.

ShortAngryViking reacted to paul2009 in Are international date formats supported yet?
Squarespace still only accepts dates in the form mm/dd/yy. That said, if you expect a website to appeal to a global audience, there are better ways to input a date than to ask users to enter them manually.
For example, someone from Europe who is visiting New York could could easily book theatre tickets for April 3rd (04/03) instead of 4th March (04/03) if they were required to enter the date using digits. The transaction could be a total disaster!
Unless you are requesting historical dates, like a date of birth, a datepicker offers a much improved user experience (UX) for everyone.
A popular solution is our Datepicker Extension for Squarespace. You can add it to Squarespace Contact Forms and Custom Product Forms on both Squarespace 7.0 and 7.1.

Pages can have their own individual passwords already as opposed to the whole site. That works without the member areas option. You can create a gallery page or page with gallery block(s) for any client with its own unique simple password.

Hi, has any found a suitable solution (other than heading to another platform) for client proofing of images? My client would like his customers to choose images for their wedding album from a private gallery.
I had thought of numbering the images and getting the customer to then send through a list via email, very old school and not Squarespace slick.
    Any suggestions most welcome.
    Thanks

Hi, looking for some suggestions on how to display clients photos in private gallery. I know I can set up a non linked site with password etc.
What I would like to do is have a button on the private page that links to slide show of photos that fill the width of the browser both desktop and mobile. I know how to create all of it with the exception of the full browser width.

Any thoughts and suggestions greatly appreciated.

Definitely in need of a client proofing solution. Just a simple gallery page with the option to show the file number and ability to favorite would be amazing.

    Hi Guys!

May have solved the issue here... This worked for mine... and I had two nav items underneath the original line. Have a fiddle with the numbers to reflect your page
    .header-nav *, .header-menu-nav * { display: inline-block !important; padding: -0.5rem; margin: -17.5px;
      }

Let me know how it goes...

    p.s.

Does anyone know how to move nav items closer together? My first nav item seems so far from the rest? 😕

No problem 😁👍 @ShortAngryViking  Is there anything else that I can help you with? Thanks!

ShortAngryViking reacted to inunzi in Preventing Navigation Items from Stacking
@HarKS Yes, there is a way to do this, and it is very easy to do so! Just go to your Squarespace site-click edit-then click the header and click the button that says “Edit header”. After you pressed that button, there should be a few different sections such as header layout, logo and site title, etc. You will want to press the section that says “style”. Now you can customize the link spacing, and more! I sent screen shots down below to help you more.
Do you have any other questions? Thanks!

ShortAngryViking reacted to paul2009 in How to keep stack blocks all the same size?
Unfortunately, setting a minimum height (as suggested above) doesn't scale. It will only work above at fixed resolutions. See what happens when the code is applied:

A better alternative is to use flexbox to create equal-sized containers. Add
display: flex to the column container, and then for columns of equal height, add
flex:1 to the columns themselves. Be careful about the specificity so that you don't inadvertently affect other elements on the same page.
@romerodan to do this on your site, you'll want to put the three columns in their own section of your index page. This will enable you to target just these three columns. When flexbox is used on the page, the columns do this at different resolutions:

@erin3 For specific advice for your site, please provide the URL of the page.
