This is very disappointing. I have been waiting for a very long time for "real" Ecommerce updates like:
    - additional payment methods
    - displaying correct product prices with EU VAT in the shop & on customer invoices
    - integrated multilanguage support instead of relying on the super expensive WeGlot app
    - any additional cart options (cart slider, letting the customer know how much until free shipping...)
Are you planning to add any new features at all regarding ecommerce?

I only have to add that the pricing for startups, and small businesses are just too high. As was said at the beginning, I cannot trust an auto translate to be better than me. Still, it is the price which kills this. I am left with loads of duplication while all the while thinking "should I move from SQSP?"

    Hello Eugene,
Thank you for your feedback. I am fully aware that text translation requires significant effort and that quality translation necessitates the involvement of someone who is fluent in the language.
You mentioned the free offer in partnership with Squarespace that allows excluding certain pages to limit the word count. I have taken note of this option.
However, I would like to express my frustration regarding the Squarespace/Weglot combo. With the offer provided by this partnership, I am unable to get link translations without subscribing to the $87 plan, which is necessary for this feature. Yet, for quality work and to meet the requirements of good SEO, this feature is almost indispensable, especially for a website intended for a multilingual audience.
For a large company, $87 might not represent a significant cost, but for a small site run by an artisan, it can be prohibitive.
To illustrate my point, let me share a specific issue I reported to your teams. Despite my paid subscription, there's a bug with Squarespace on the "orders" page. When a customer purchases a product, goes through payment, and completes their order, the summary of the order remains in the base language of the site. Thus, a customer choosing German ends up with an order summary in English if the site is in that language. Moreover, there are also issues with payment settings: it is possible to define the shop policy and return policy, but the inserted content is not translated.
This shopping experience can hardly be considered reassuring.
I also read on the forum that a user suggested Squarespace should focus less on marketing and more on development. I find this comment to be valid because adding multilingual functionalities should not be a significant challenge in terms of development.
One of the most frustrating aspects is the need to subscribe separately for each feature. My main frustration with Weglot lies in the high cost of its subscriptions.
Nonetheless, I want to thank you for your response, Eugene.

    Hi!
I'm currently building an online store for a florist. I'm trying to figure out the best way to add a specific description to each product variant. The description would be the recipe for the flower arrangement so it would differ for each variant, I would like to have this in the order summary so the florist can see all the information on one page when an order is made. Any tips on how to approach this would be appreciated!

    Try this in Custom CSS:
    @media only screen and (max-width:767px) { #gruener-tee-shop { .sqs-col-6:nth-child(odd) { width: 50% !important; float:left !important; } .sqs-col-6:nth-child(even) { width: 50% !important; float:right !important; } } }

SHOCHA got a reaction from Beyondspace in Move to Shopify or use Buy Button
    Hi Community,
for our Squarespace website we are missing a lot of Ecommerce features that Shopify offers (payment options, EU compliant invoicing, EU shipping integration etc.). We do like the look and easy design of the Squarespace site, though.
Would a shopify buy button be a good alternative or should we consider moving to Shopify altogether. What are the up- and downsides of each alternative?
Any comments, experiences regarding this are much appreciated.
    Cheers from Germany
    Sascha

Sorry, I never tried it because you would have to create a unique Buy button for every product. I am a little afraid that this would make the whole system very prone to errors. Maybe someone else has tried it and can comment on this?

    You're welcome!

There are no differences regarding features or usage. So if you already have Weglot connected to your website, your user experience will be the same in 7.0 and 7.1.
Good luck with your project and have a great day!

Thanks, I read through it and, as you said, there doesn't seem to be that much if a difference. I gues I will stick with 7.0 for now.

    Thanks again

    Hey there,
You can translate your Squarespace website with Weglot on both versions!
The only difference is that for 7.0 you need to use the general integration and in 7.1 you can use the dedicated integration.
Hope it's clear but don't hesitate to reach out to us at support@weglot.com if you need any help.
    Have a great day!

There are not a great number of differences, but there are a few listed here:
