  1. Hey there, I have used squarespace before to make a site, however the group I was making the website for had already decided upon a template. They used the Bedford template and It did what I wanted it to do, but at times it just wasn't flexible enough. Now I am being given a specific design that looks very similar to Bedford but slightly different. I wondered if anyone here knew of a template that would be most conducive to me implementing the images that I am posting. Having proper headers, a menu bar above the menu bar, a sidebar, but only on specific pages, a footer and a pre-footer, divs w
  2. #collection-5d49c9181475550001da0170 .sqs-col-12 .sqs-col-6 { width: 46%; margin-left: 2%; margin-right: 2%; } I added this to my custom CSS and it seems to have done the trick. Thanks anyway @tuanphan hopefully this thread helps out someone in the future.
  3. Upon shrinking the width of the spacer: #block-yui_3_17_2_1_1565972739423_54092 { width: 1px; } I found that the column width still remains the same. So the only option is to change the padding for an entire column via custom CSS. Anyone know how to do this?
  4. I am Remaking an old site that was made in Drupal, I need to make it as similar as possible. Right now when I have two columns side by side they are too close. I tried adding a third column with nothing but a spacer in-between, but it that is too MUCH space in-between each column. Does someone know a way to shrink the width of a spacer block to be smaller than It is normally able? If not that does someone know a way to add a margin, or padding to an entire column? I can't seem to find a block ID for an entire column. @tuanphan this seems like something you would know how to handle. https:/
  5. This is true, I think the homepage for my site is alright as it is; so I didn't see this code as necessary, maybe thats why I'm getting this problem where other banners on different computers aren't working as they are on my machine... @tuanphan have you been able to reproduce this problem? do you have any idea what could be causing this?
  6. @tuanphan Ok this is really weird... on my machine it is working correctly, but when using another computer it acts completely different.https://ibb.co/4RQgHb2 https://ibb.co/N6cJ9LS Try going to this link: https://earthworm-capybera-xrep.squarespace.com/careers I'm using your code for the most part, but this part made my image stretch out in a bad way: .homepage #thumbnail img { top: 0 !important; width: 100% !important; height: 100% !important; }
  7. This worked for what I want, @tuanphan it didn't zoom out the image, but it made the top visible by making the text margin bigger, very creative. Very nice. Hopefully this can help other people who have this problem with their banners in Squarespace... Seeing as I doubt squarespace is gonna make this easier for us.
  8. Also I want to link to some other threads that don't seem to be getting any answers at all... If we could figure this out i think it would help a lot of people who use squarespace. https://answers.squarespace.com/questions/18185/beatrice-banner-images-zooming.html https://answers.squarespace.com/questions/153759/zoom-out-banner-image-hayden-template.html https://answers.squarespace.com/questions/197177/banner-zoomed-in.html
  9. @tuanphan I used this code in my custom css, i do not see a difference in the banner image. It is not changing the automatic zoom. Also I wanted this to un-zoom all the images, not just the one on the .homepage. hmm... Thanks for the code though I will see what I can do with it.
  10. Once again you've done great @tuanphan why are you the most helpful person around here? ;)
  11. @tuanphan https://earthworm-capybera-xrep.squarespace.com Do you know of a way to do this, my customer is really not happy about the heads of the people in their images being cut off at the top...
  12. I got half the problem down, at first I just wanted to make my header have a max width of 1600px; I inserted this code into custom CSS #header { -webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; -moz-osx-font-smoothing: grayscale; max-width: 1600px; background: #fff; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; } This is pretty great, It makes my header only stretch out so far with width. However It presented me with quite a peculiar problem that I do not think happens normally, I think it is an issue from squarespace, it shifts the header to the left most edge, even though margin: auto. Upon pla
  13. I'm sorry, this is close but you must have misunderstood my question. I did not want to make the sidebar disappear for one post page, I wanted to disable the sidebars for all the post previews in the blog list view. As you can see, when you go to this page you can see the sidebar beside the first post. but when using your code, it is disabled in this page. Thanks all the same @tuanphan your a real help here. I'll see what I can do with the code you gave me.
  14. But I did this time @tuanphan ... because i figured you would say that, seeing as you're the only person that responds to my threads. Thanks for that. :P Here is the URL again https://earthworm-capybera-xrep.squarespace.com/blog here is the specific post URL https://earthworm-capybera-xrep.squarespace.com/blog/personal-payments
  15. I have been having quite a hard time trying to add a link above my blog title that takes you back to the blog list page. Sort of like a "back to posts" link so that it's easy for the reader to go back and forth from the list to each individual post. Upon seeing that I could not put blocks above the title I tried putting this link on the sidebar and putting the sidebar on the left with this custom CSS: #rightSidebar { float: left; width: 202px; } I thought maybe I had finally come to a solution, but then when taking another look at the blog post list, I saw that the sidebar is still
  16. This worked great! @tuanphan Thanks so much! It really is too bad that the bedford template doesn't give you the ability to edit these types of things easily, but i'm sure if anyone has this problem in the future they will find this code to be very useful.
  17. You meant the squarespace site URL, not the one I am trying to reproduce. Here is the page with the background I am trying to stretch out behind an image.@tuanphan If you could show me how to do this with custom css, that would help me out a lot.
  18. @tuanphan Thanks again for the reply :) I do know basic CSS so I will take a look at flexbox. But here is a link to the site I am working on currently, If you could show me how you would go about putting the dates under the titles, and also making the "read more" into a button that would help. All these things are nice, but how would I add a text block with a paragraph to the blog list page itself? Can css add an element like that, without any access to html?
  19. Thanks for the reply @tuanphan how exactly would I do that? change each one individually, or is there a way to target all posts? Also, how could I move the date to be under the title, use x, y position? Any direction you could point me in could help.
  20. Right now I am trying to recreate an old blog. However I am running into a lot of design problems. First of all it seems like on blog pages you cannot add blocks like you can on normal pages... you can only add posts, Before all the posts i wanted there to be a main paragraph... Not only that, I am not finding any way to edit the style of the posts on the blog list page. For example, I wanted the title to be first, the date to be underneath. Instead of "Read More ->" as text, i wanted it to be a button. There has got to be a way to do something as simple as this?! If i want these little st
  21. Right now when I go to my blog page and hover where the page normally says edit it says "Manage posts", "Add posts", "banner", and "settings"... What I am looking to do is add a simple title and button above all of these titles that is not part of one of the posts. It should be possible to do this I think, any ideas? Thanks in advance, and thanks for reading.
