    SimpleLittleDesigns got a reaction from ilseS in Creating Hover Effects in Fluid Engine

    Hi I am a Squarespace Circle member but of late have not found the responses from staff there overly useful and more generic in nature. I.e. check your browser is up to date and try on other browsers, even after explaining I had already done that.
    Hoping someone here maybe able to help, while I have placed this query in the custom code area (because it may indeed need to be done that way), if anyone knows of any cheats through existing templated pages or galleries I would be most appreciative.
    I have tried using a portfolio page, added custom code to get rid of the text below the portfolio items (which really should be a simple toggle to switch off but is not). However, once I get to the point of engaging the hover effect and adding my custom image, I realised there is no way to add a custom URL, all of the pages are already created that I want them to click through to and portfolio forces you to a new page with a "/portfolio/URL". Super annoying and no way I am going to recreate all of these nor should have to.
    Does anyone either know a way to do this using existing features in Fluid Engine, or some code that will allow a hover effect of Colour to B&W or reverse, or an opacity option when hovering so there is a defined difference when hovering? I am still working through all the articles, but so far no luck with anything.
    Thanks in advance 🙂

    @paul2009 well maybe they should monitor this as it is SS forum is it not?
    @derricksrandomviews Having on offline asset folder doesnt solve loads of issues.
    I mistakingly uploaded a whole bunch of high res images and then needed to upload lower res images that have the same file name. Now I dont know which one to choose when selecting images from the library because I cant delete the high res ones - ridiculous a CMS doesnt have this feature

    As mentioned in point 6 of the forum guidelines, Squarespace don't monitor this forum for feature requests or customer questions. If this feature is important to your business, you can request this feature by contacting Squarespace Customer Care.

    @Zoltan - yes, this is a huge component that is missing from Squarespace.  I contacted support about this and was told that images that are no longer used on a page will be deleted automatically from the file upload browser after a certain amount of time.  And if there is an image or file that needs to be removed immediately, we should contact support and they can help.  This workflow is certainly not ideal by any means, but thought it might be helpful to share in the meantime.

    Add to Home > Design > Custom CSS
    .header-nav-folder-item a { padding-top: 10px !important; } .header-nav-folder-item--active a { color: red !important; }

    Will this be resolved soon? This is a nightmare. I will have to reconsider using Squarespace now going forward after planning out a business selling custom made sites for specific industries, this inability to manage a photo gallery is a deal breaker!!! What a lot of wasted time... even the lowest level platforms offer this function. It may also mean I have to delete my current project and start over. Nightmare!!!

    Please add image library feature - it's insane to have to scroll through every image that has ever been uploaded - designers use a lot of test images!!!!!
