jai.cheswick got a reaction from darbycalm in Member areas: manual account creation / require approval
Yes I discovered that anyone can sign in the hard way, creating a members area for survivors of assault to find that an abuser had become a member.
So that was very quickly the end of that members area.
In other words there is a safety issue fir other members if someone ‘off the street’ can simply join up.

jai.cheswick got a reaction from sayreambrosio in Is there some way to have a Chat box/Forum for Members area?
The Sqaurespace platform used to include a discussion forum, was it in V5 ?
Can it not be brought back in ? Why was it shelved ?
Thanks jai

jai.cheswick reacted to keramch in Squarespace Scheduling - create client account - end of journey
i could not agree more... there is so much friction in this process...
we have been encouraging clients to get the app, and be better able to manage their own schedules, but the process to do it is SO convoluted and many of our clients are in crisis, so this added level of stress and anxiety is not helpful.
Even if we could just create accounts within admin and send them a link to complete would be a vast improvement.
it's totally non-intuitive to create an account AFTER you've already booked and paid for ... and attended... an appointment.
Please put this on the wish list!

Take a look at my video, for now there is support only for images but the process is pretty simple.
Also the article:

jai.cheswick got a reaction from Alexander in Members Area - Member Email Address change
Gee that’s really pretty useless considering Squarespace is a multi billion dollar company ! This sort of thing just irritates users and that irritation builds up over time.

I desperately need these features in place so anyone cannot sign up and get instant access to the hidden content.

Same here. Quite disappointed in limited features of Members area so far. They need to up their game to stay competitive.

It honestly feels like Squarespace has abandoned their membership platform, and months after the release has not addressed the numerous issues and limitations.

The inability to approve memberships will make SquareSpace unsuitable for my website.

Same. We want to grow our new business platform on Members Area but giving up as there's no roadmap or signs of improvement. We want to see manual approval option, zapier triggers and a better community function.

I second that. I made the mistake of creating my member area before checking on this. Now I have a member area that anyone can become a member of. I need some control over who can and cannot become a member as my payment structure is done outside of the SQSP environment. I don't think directly linking to the member area via email all the time is an acceptable option.

It didn't seem appropriate to 'like' your post, but I do sympathise. It's a stark reminder, if one were needed. I hope that others realise this before they use any membership products.
