Site URL: http://sandersraku.com
SEO Question re how much detail to include in slugs in store and in descriptive pages:
I'm in process of creating a SHOP to sell Raku pottery at Sandersraku.com - not public yet. The shop is organized around styles/forms, so , for example, an item may reside at: https://www.sandersraku.com/shop/saggar/bowls, where saggar is the style and bowls is the form. Fyi, there are six total categories and each may have as many as 6 forms, i.e., bowls, platters, vessels, etc.
If you know pottery, you know that Raku is a form/method of producing pottery.
This site sells only raku, so "raku" or "raku pottery" are likely search terms.
Note that the current domain contains the word "raku": Sandersraku.com. (SteveSandersRaku.com, will be installed later)
My SEO question concerns the store and corresponding descriptive page slugs and resulting URLs:
Currently, for one form, for example, the shop and page URLS are:
Shop: https://www.sandersraku.com/shop/saggar/bowls
Descriptive Page: https://www.sandersraku.com/sagger-raku
Should I change the form to:
Shop: https://www.sandersraku.com/shop/raku/saggar/bowls
Page: https://www.sandersraku.com/raku-saggar
OR, should I elaborate the "raku" slug to "raku-pottery"
Shop: https://www.sandersraku.com/shop/raku-pottery/saggar/bowls, and
Page: https://www.sandersraku.com/raku-pottery/saggar
Bottomline question: should I use the slug /raku/ or /raku pottery/ to improve indexing and make the site be more likely to be found when user searches for "raku" or "raku pottery"?
Thanks ahead for your expert advice.
