  1. A member of our organization has volunteered to help me in maintaining the association's website. As far as I know the volunteer has good "user skills", has used software like PageMaker and MailChimp in the past but no website and definitely not Squarespace experience. I think what I would like to do is create a few unlinked pages, preferably duplicates of actual pages on our site. Then invite him in as a contributor, point him to the unlinked pages and tell him to practice adding, editing text blocks, uploading and placing photos, etc. All without him being able to accidentaly trash anything active. I have many ideas about how to accomplish the above, but know for sure that there are possible consequences I cannot foresee. For the record I do not think I care if the pages the trainee is working on are openly viewable and findable -- but, I am sure that I don't want them included in our site's live navigation. I will appreciate any and all discussion and suggestions Jim in MidCoast Maine
  2. Site URL: https://www.americancoopworthregistry.org We want to provide our members the ability to view and/or download information. This would be documents such as our annual financial report which would not be publicly available. Everything I read in the Squarespace literature is focused on using member areas for various e-commerce, money-making purposes. I have also been searching for a simple display of what Squarespace will charge. The attitude seems to be that I should ,make all the effort to create the area and then at the end of a free trial period the amount of a monthly subscription add-on fee will be advised.
  3. Thank SO MUCH paul209. I should be embarrassed that the solution was so close at hand, but I'm not. It's been my experience that when a company makes a program very user friendly (supposedly) and intuitive (allegedly) that it's always the case that somethings happen sort of automatically behind "the curtain" and a lot of time is wasted trying to unwind a situation. I'm now headed to give SF Digital a looksee. After my experiences with the association's website we'd decided that Squarespace would not work for our company site which will include an e-commerce segment. Thank you again -- I hope our paths cross again. Jim Child
  4. Site URL: https://www.americancoopworthregistry.org How do I change our website name, as it shows in "My Dashboard". I want the name to simply be "American Coopworth Registry" ...which it was -- no idea how it was changed to what it shows currently
