SEO - canonical URl
Collaborada replied to ouli.oli's topic in Appearance in search engines and Social
Hi @ouli.oli both your domain and the built-in have been indexed by google. You can use the "site:" command to see this. For example, place this in your browser: site:kunskapskontoret.se More info on built-in domains: https://www.collaborada.com/blog/squarespace-built-in-domain -
Hi @zakb see if this issue is applicable to the soft 404, note we've seen it happen with video blocks not just background videos:
-
Hi @Rawan Thin content refers to low-quality low-value pages, it is not word count. Regarding the soft 404, are you using Squarespace to host the video? If so, try Vimeo or YT:

You can use the full URL for the destination and you won't see the protocol downgrade. -

Google doesn't list site title, instead puts website address
Collaborada replied to mhuk01's topic in SEO
Hi @mhuk01 it sounds like you are referencing site names in Google. If the site is new and you followed best practices, then you just need to wait. Note, we've seen some personal brands with existing extensive online footprints take longer. Info on how to influence site names is here: https://www.collaborada.com/blog/site-names -
Published date not showing in SERPs anymore
Collaborada replied to Shelly9's topic in Appearance in search engines and Social
Hi @Shelly9 you didn't mention what type of content you publish or the name of the site, but generally speaking this falls under the heading of "Google does what Google wants." Here's more info: https://developers.google.com/search/blog/2019/03/help-google-search-know-best-date-for -

Hi @dotandpeg. An active page can't be redirected. "Noindex" might be what you want. Good luck! -
Pages not indexing on Google Console
Collaborada replied to dotandpeg's topic in Appearance in search engines and Social
Hi @dotandpeg. Part of the issue is the site migrated without redirects. Old URLs were structured like /raiffeisen-work and new ones like /work/banque-raiffeisen. More info here: https://www.collaborada.com/blog/301-redirects Let us know if you need help. -
Hi @AH2. The site blocked crawling of all bots: https://www.thehaughmond.co.uk/robots.txt You can visit Settings > Crawlers to set the toggles to your preferred settings. More info is here: https://www.collaborada.com/blog/robots-txt-guide Good luck!

Collaborada replied to feefee1's topic in SEO
Hi @feefee1 please try it and let us know how it goes. Make sure to use lower case "i" vs upper case. %i represents the title of an item.- 10 replies

Hi @MarieD If you've improved the content, submit the URL to Google for a crawl. They likely just haven't been back to crawl the page in a while. If they still don't like it, then you need to keep working on it.
