squarespace-7.0 Can I download assets from 7.0 site to rebuild in 7.1? Is it worth upgrading?

I'm updating my client's 7.0 website. He has a large asset library. 1) Can the asset library be downloaded? I'm hoping to rebuild the site in 7.1, so I need all these assets to do that. (The client is super busy and won't be able to search out all the assets individually.) 2) Is it even worth it upgrading to 7.1? Is there a pressing reason to update to 7.1? I could just as well stay in 7.0, duplicate and redesign.
