I've stopped using film for at least three decades now. Digital systems have greatly improved and offer many advantages in my professional work. One of the biggest issues I remember was not knowing what you did wrong, and you could only see the results after you had developed your photos, unlike digital systems, which are immediate. My advice for people starting out without any experience in both digital and film systems who want to start with film is to take lots of images and consider recording your settings somewhere so that you can cross-reference them with your prints later on to figure out the settings that do and do not work in different settings.

Time passes fast when you do something you enjoy. I'm lucky to have found that in photography and do it as a profession. The famous Confucius once said, "Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life".

Back when I ran a studio, my favourite tool was actually my 65" Samsung TV. I had set up my camera to wireless tether images to the screen as I shot them, which always impressed the clients. Because the TV was so large, bright and clear, clients could see it from a distance, which helped achieve the images the client wanted to achieve more easily. These days, I set up the "studio" on-site at the client's office when needed. Studio lights now work on lithium batteries. Though heavy, it's still portable enough to transport everything you need. My favourite tool now is actually a compact foldable trolley, which allows me to transport everything I need while being able to fit into a booth of a car easily. The colour check passport is also another solid tool that's hard to live without. It's so hard to just decide on "The Favourite Tool".

I have been using Zenfolio for that purpose since 2008. My initial website was made using Joomla before I switched to Squarespace years ago.

Thanks @paul2009. Yes, I'm using another platform alongside Squarespace to help with that via a subdomain. Seems like that's still the best approach.

I agree with @creedon. It's often easy to tell if a website uses multiple images from stock. Work with a good photographer to come out with something custom. e.g. if you are based in Asia, make sure you have a good amount of images that have Asians in it. The people should be of the age group of your target market. They don't have to be professional models, depending on the kind of services you are offering. If you are offering repair services, the person pretending to be an engineer in an image should somewhat look like one wearing the appropriate outfit.

It's unfortunately, there isn't an automatic way to upgrade from 7.0 to 7.1. Based on what I've read, it seems like I have to redo the website if I want to upgrade. However, I did come across a video to export the blog portion to word press than import it back into the new template from word press. I don't know if it's worth the trouble though.

@paul2009 Is it easy to convert an existing site to Version 7.1?

My guess would be to upload it to YouTube and embed it. I have a feeling that it still counts as visitor views. If you have a lot of people watching it, YouTube might be encouraged to show it to other people who aren't your followers within YouTube thus increasing traffic. I might be wrong here but I think that's generally how it works.

I generally surf the web to admire works created by others. Websites like www.deviantart.com have been a source of inspiration for me in the past.

May I know how much storage is allocated per user for this purpose?

Have you found a solution to this? I'm trying to figure out how to have images included in excerpts as well.

Just to add, after tinkering with this, I'm not sure if a summary block is the solution. It doesn't allow me to navigate past the number of items that are set. This means my ideal solution is to use my blog page as it is and figure out a way for the image to be displayed for each image post while having an excerpt.

Hi all. I have a blog on my website which displays each post in its entirety. I'd prefer it to show an image with the title and excerpt. However, when I add an excerpt, the image that represents the blog doesn't appear. This happens even if I've uploaded the image as the featured image. My conclusion is that's how this template was designed. I've recently realised that I could probably use summary blocks within a new page and link it to my blog after unlinking it. However, I'm wondering how I could do it such that my new page could have the URL slug set as "blog" without changing the URLs of all my blog posts. My issue is my existing blog landing page already uses that as the URL slug. I'm assuming all the posts within that collection reference that to create the unique URLs for each post, e.g. website/blog-url/post-title. This means if I were to change the URL slug of the existing blog page, the URLs for the individual post would change, and I don't want that to happen. Are any gurus out there with a solution?

Hi Henry, thanks for the response. When you say remove them, are you talking about the check boxes to hide the categories and tags from search results or something else to remove them completely from the blog?

Hi all, I'm trying to improve SEO for my website and would like some advice on this. Based on my understanding, we should avoid submitting duplicate content to search engines. I noticed that some of the tags in my blog are being indexed via Google Search Console.
