  1. Hi Sandra! (My design page is in Pacific :) Apologies if this is not on-target! After removing the slideshow, hover at the left top of window, then Banner-->Video, and paste in the URL. 7.0 memories are hazy, so others might have a more helpful/applicable solution. ~ Carol
  2. @mbockmaster, I so appreciate your help. Beginner question, I know 🙂 ~~ do I put it in one of the areas discussed below, or do I have to go... further in? Again, thank you. https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/205815928-Adding-custom-code-to-your-site @mike.bj, yes—I have the best clients, but they get understandably flummoxed when they discover it; they don't understand why this isn't an easy fix. A current client is a composer for... (think large media conglomerate). We're supposed to launch imminently. After rebuilding one of the sites from scratch and encountering the same issue, I've communicated (as gently as possible) to Support that it's a credibility/reputational issue, particularly when it comes to discerning, high-achievement clients. @tuanphan, thanks, will check it out.
  3. I know this is late in coming, but I’ve experienced this also; turning off animations is a workaround… but most of my clients want animations. I've just rebuilt a site from scratch—same issue. Conversions, credibility… I’m at a loss here. Have been in touch with Support and given no timeframe re: when this issue will be fixed. About to launch five musician/producer sites, two very high profile. Concerned.
  4. This is such a wonderful, comprehensive guide. Thank you! Squarespace naturally lends itself to gorgeous designs for musical artists. It’s a straightforward process to create with a minimum of technical distraction. My musician clients and I are currently grappling with the necessity of double tapping to open mobile links on Safari iOS when animations are turned on (have contacted Support several times!), and am looking forward to that issue being resolved.
  5. Thank you. It resulted in the player not going to a separate iOS player, but still no audio. Since I've had several issues with this site, I'm rebuilding it from the ground up... no issues. Gratitude for all of your helpfulness!
  6. Greetings, and thank you! iPhone Safari is where the problem is. When tapping Play on the audio player, it doesn't go to a player (I don't mind that!) It goes to white. Nothing. Support has been kind, no solution. Going on for over a week. The vast majority of my clients are musicians. Site: https://rogermantell.com/music Get in: rogermantell24 I tried the code referenced elsewhere to keep it from opening another window. It worked, but utter silence. Have re-uploaded tracks, no change. (Disregard the widget at the bottom of the page; I'd much prefer to not have to use it! But it works! I appreciate it)
  7. Hi there! — I've been in contact with Squarespace over the last several weeks re: this very issue. So yes, I've turned off animations, but it makes a significant difference in the aesthetic of the site. Can this be prioritized? Like you, I'm at a loss as to what to do.
  8. Squarespace support said that this issue happens on iPhone Safari browsers, and that disabling animations is a temporary workaround.
  9. So many great suggestions. I design mobile as I go, also—with several devices, if possible. Am in the process of working with a Circle member to obtain code to make a button on mobile work on the first tap. This is happening on at least two sites that I'm currently building. Squarespace support has been most helpful and said that it's an issue on their end, and they're on it. In the meantime, my client is patient, luckily :/
  10. Thank you so much! Sorry, have been recovering :) Messaged you. It continues to be an issue, and am building yet another site that has this same problem. Continuing to search the forum with little success.
  11. Greetings and thanks... not yet! Support said it's an occasional issue and they're working on it. In the meantime, heading links work fine first tap on mobile; it's just text links and buttons that require two taps when first opening the site.
  12. On 2nd support try, Squarespace was able to replicate the issue, and escalated it to engineering & design.
  13. My client is not ready to make this site public yet, so I'm sorry I can't provide a link. On mobile, a text link (going to the contact page) works fine on the computer; however, on both my iPhone 14 Pro Max and my client's iPhone 8 (!!), the link requires a double tap to go to the destination the first time the site is opened. Then, the browser... or something... seems to "learn" the destination, and it's fine. Happened on both Safari and Duck mobile browsers. Support was not able to replicate this issue; I'm at a loss. No problem with requiring a double tap on footer links. Sooooo, as recommended, I am working through "Troubleshooting browser issues," but what are the chances of this happening on both phones? Re-created the link several times, the same issue. I know I can make a button and be done with it, but this is exceedingly strange—never encountered in my six-year building history. The footer links work fine! Support says that this is a phone/browser issue and outside their scope. Edited to add: This also happens with the button on mobile! Requires two taps.
