  1. It would change for all page nav bars but you this is in design custom css, that is where I have mine. Changed the background from transparent to gray. I have no code to change the drop down anywhere else except to left justify the text in the box. #topNav .main-nav .folder-collection .subnav ul { text-align: left; } I use this to change the box color. I left the text color alone, it changes with header/sub title color style tweak. /* Change the navigation drop-downs background colour*/ #topNav nav .folder-collection ul li a { background-color:#F4F4F4; } https://myrandomviews.com/
  2. Change the backgournd color of the drop down for one page maybe? Stick this in the advanced settings for the one page? /* Change dropdown menu background */ .header-nav-folder-content { background: #febf00 !important; } Make a color here: https://www.hexcolortool.com/#000000 and use the #number to replace the one in the code.
  3. if you already had the images uploaded and they are not showing up, then make sure you have promoted blocks enabled in settings, go to design/template settings and make sure disable promoted blocks is NOT checked.
  4. I don't understand this need to make a folder link to the first item in a folder while on the site. Whats wrong with just opening the folder? The first item in the folder is linked to the URL slug of the folder if you use that link from outside the site. For example myrandomviews.com/lessons takes you to the first item in a folder named photography lessons, if you put it in the address bar of a browser. Clicking the folder will not take you there, it opens the folder and then you get there by the first link..
  5. https://heathertovey.com/blog/gradient-backgrounds/ read the whole lesson, the comments have code for changing banners, and headers to be gradient.
  6. You can move back, but there is no switch to do it. No option for a template change. You would need to start a new trial with a 7.0 site, build it, activate it, move your domain and then cancel the original site, once you know the new one is working. You will get an immediate credit for time left on your old site. As far as a road map from 7.0 to 7.1, I don't see that happening any time soon if at all. They are two very different platforms that intended or not are for two different kinds of website builders. I personally think that 7.1 is one good template family (inspired by the one page look of 7.0 Brine family) but it is more mobile view driven, with preset designs, not exactly templates, not in the 7.0 sense anyway. It is meant to make it easier for new folks, do it your selfers to build a nice site without a lot of trouble and it fits that bill. I will build on it if it fits my customers needs, but I don't have any sites there yet. One thing that would make me stay with 7.0 is the landing/cover page option which 7.1 does not have. https://myrandomviews.com/ is my 7.0 Avenue site, been up for five years.
  7. If you deleted the original image and the re-uploaded you may have lost your category tag, so your summary/collection/index pages are not updating. Make sure everything is okay. I don't think you need to upload to the other pages, not sure because I can't see for sure what kind of pages or blocks the page is on .
  8. Is that another change with 7.1? 7.0 has Title, and Subtitle (tagline). Logo takes the place of Title. 7.0 Landing page has its own Logo or title, with Headline (subtitle) and body.
  9. I don't know if the above code puts a blog "home" nav link between pre/next, would be nice if it did. There is simple thing you can do, just put a page link button in the blog footer, connected to the blog, press the button, takes you right back home to first page or link it to a blog summary page if you are using one. I may add one myself, had thought of that until I read this post.
  10. Do you want to actually back to the "home page" of the blog, or just back to the top of what page you are on? if on a long post, a back to top button would not be a bad thing to have considering the first post in the blog is also the latest one and that changes. A back to top button can float along the bottom corner of the page. I have one on my site, site wide actually. Its an up arrow, but could say "top" https://myrandomviews.com/storysummary
  11. Sure, my nav bar turns red when hovering over it. I used this code, color is reddish pink. /* Change here the hovering background color! */ @hover-background-color: #F1948A;;
  12. If they are click thru and not files on your site, just make sure the url has the s in it. If they still come up insecure of won't display at all, the problem is where the pictures are located, can't do much about that I am afraid.
  13. If this is site wide you put it in custom css under design. If it is for one page its a bit different you put it in advance for that page with <style> at both ends of the code.
  14. Make sure you have uploaded an image on your home page settings, or if you have one, your landing page settings, in the social media setting, in social media preview image field and alternate social media image field. It would also be a good idea to put one in Media banner thumbnail image field as well.
  15. This might help you : https://stackoverflow.com/questions/17341670/change-color-of-one-character-in-a-text-box-html-css
  16. The code isn't going to work without uploading a font file for folks reading this thread. https://www.kayleighnoele.com/blog/how-to-upload-a-custom-font-to-squarespace https://www.dafont.com/ Lots and lots of fonts, free!
  17. I don't know what changes you have made but it seems to be working fine, I see the same things on desktop and my motoz3. I suggest you add a back to top botton, would make it easier to get to the nav bar from a large gallery. Nice use of Avenue. I use it too: https://www.myrandomviews.com/ I suggest you covert your logo to a png or use a camera icon and load it as a favicon to replace the SS "borg" cube on the browser bar. You will see that I have done that as well.
  18. There is something going on with the buttons. The nav bar links take me to the same page, media, events, just fine. I can type the address of any page in chrome goes there just fine, same for Edge. So I suggest you relink the buttons. Copy the url from the address bar after you click there from the nav bar and use that to program the button link. Edge says the site name on the ssl certificate doesn't match the name of the site the button is going to. If that doesn't work then check out the link I posted here: Did you follow this guide for name cheap? https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/205812448-Connecting-a-Namecheap-domain-to-your-Squarespace-site 5:23 edt Happy to see that all seems to be working correctly now.
  19. If you just moved your domain it can take anywhere from an hour to a day before it propagates for all pages and all providers, cell service usually being the last. It should clear up on its own. I doubt that one error is causing a problem check your ssl certificate here: https://www.sslshopper.com/ssl-checker.html just type in your website address.
  20. The best way to do it is the old fashioned copy and paste move. The two sites do not see each other even though they are in the same account, with same ownership. That is as it should be actually. there are a couple tricks folks have tried, with mixed results: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/38091859/squarespace-transfer-one-page-to-another-website
  21. Text block in a gallery page header should be controlled separately from the gallery. If its a page with a gallery block same thing. Go to a page you want to adjust, then design site styles and choose the text, the menu will follow see what you can do. If you can't move it, code should do it if needed.
  22. Make your color and get the code you need here: https://www.hexcolortool.com/#f1af3b
  23. Video banners don't play on mobile, too large too slow to load who knows. I use a backup still image. Here is an example, if you see the mobile on your phone turned either way it will be a very pleasant surprise to me. Look at it on a laptop first. https://www.dcmrblueridge.com/
  24. In theory I would disable social accounts in settings, that should drop all the icons and them use social blocks to add the ones I want back into the footer of the pages where I want them. Others here may have a better approch.
