  1. Check out this thread it may help you, read it all.
  2. The first thing is that you need to build an eligible Squarespace site or a holding page (coming soon) to point your Squarespace domain to. You will not be able to move your existing site's content directly to Squarespace. Then you follow the directions that you will find here: moving Squarespace domain to another Squarespace site, in your case from a third-party site to a Squarespace site. This is done in the Squarespace account panel not on the third-party site. You would access the domain panel in your new site configuration go to domains and click on use a domain I own, enter it in the panel on the right, and follow instructions from that point.
  3. To remove the date published add this to custom css .published { display: none } To filter the posts use an archive block in your blog page header that pulls content from your blog page, choose layout/dropdown, and set it to group by category. This helps with two of your requests.
  4. Try adding this code to custom CSS .published { display: none }
  5. You can't duplicate an index page but you can duplicate pages in the index, create a new index page in the unlinked section of your site and put the duplicated pages in it, and make it look like the original one. Avenue which I use, works the same way. Project pages, I think, should work the same way. I think.
  6. You open website/pages/system pages then open to 404 page, and choose the home page from the pull-down menu.
  7. You could redirect using URL mappings or you can change your 404 not found page to send empty URLs to your homepage. I prefer to use that method.
  8. I suggest you rename the page URL slug to "home". A redirect will not work from an active page. This works better with SEO.
  9. I make square videos with spacer blocks using the classic editor.
  10. All you should have to do is open your configuration from your account dashboard. Asset management is on the first panel that shows up, below the item website. You may want to clear your browser history if it's trying to pull up the old config page before the lastest remodel.
  11. It could be caused by your browser history. I viewed the site on two different browsers and it landed at the first section of the page. The film title is just a bit low on my laptop screen due to the space in the header above it.
  12. A second domain as long as purchased under the same subscriber account does not change that account except that the charge is added to your account. You can make that new domain the primary domain in settings. However, you cannot make the original one a subdomain if attached to the same website. it will still go to the home page but the new domain will show in the browser bar when it does. You can however publish it as "firstdomain.com/page" and direct it to any page url if you want a second "landing page" for example. If you want your domains to have separate websites then you would transfer the original one to that site. Same billing account but with two sites.
  13. The deleted page is not in your trashcan? If it is, it can be restored.
  14. You can provide the client with each unlinked page URL and explain the pages will appear on the nav bar as soon as they are completed and the client approves of them. You can create a page in the unlinked section with links to those pages.
  15. I am a 7.0 Avenue user. I have built a number of 7.0 sites, including Wexleys, and Brine sites. I have experimented with a number of 7.1 sites as well for learning purposes. I also have an Anya, Bedford member that I am experimenting with. I have never tried to use a blank template, with so many Squarespace templates and 7.1 having so many unique from each other, I think I can find one that is a very good starting point for making a good-looking site when I build one. That being said my site is eight years old but doesn't look much like it did when I first built it. I have a lot of code changes/ It still has Avenue's basic structure, including index pages, and I adapted that concept for my blog. I have some of the standard stacked image gallery pages as well. The overall look of the template has been altered a lot. Seeing that I can make so many changes to any template, I don't feel the need to change to a different one including the 7.1 version of Avenue. Here are some of my sites if you care to take a look. https://waterclinicfl.com/ was Built on Brine some years ago. It looks very much like many 7.1 "templates". https://christinegregoryphotography.com/ A Wexley site and landing page. (my daughter's website) One of the best templates for photographers and artists in my opinion. https://myrandomviews.com/ is my site, built on Avenue and also using a cover page template, a great feature not available in 7.1 Blog sidebar is a standard option, but I don't use it. The same sidebar displays all blog pages which is one reason I don't use it. I have two blog pages, although you may not notice that right off. Starting two trials in parallel, that is what I do a lot, sometimes more than two.
  16. The site you are referring to is hosted by XSERVER. XSERVER has WordPress offerings but this site, largo.studio, does not have a CMS (content management service) that I can identify. I suspect it is a very if not totally customized site. Someone here may have an idea of how it is built but I do not.
  17. If the blog page (not just some posts) is for everyone, create a page in the linked section of your site, if for only certain people put it in the unlinked section and provide those folks with its address "yourdomain.com/blogpagename"
  18. Wise decision. There is one thing you might consider before changing templates. You can add a banner to each post by adding a code block in the post header with the banner code. This would need to be done for each post. It is a workaround.
  19. Rally is part of the 7.0 Brine Family and the look of 7.1 was inspired by Brine. You can make any Brine family template look like 7.1 getting there is very different than the 7.1 configuration, however. You can add a banner to a blog in Rally if not natively with code. https://laurentaylar.com/blog/squarespace-rally-template
  20. Categories and tags are available only for events, blog posts, and products, not for images or image galleries unless they are in a blog post. The only way I can think of to make what you want is to create a gallery in each post with the associated images. You can put the gallery on the side of the post with a bit of design manipulation.
  21. It can take a number of hours for the cert to propagate through the web. You can check the certificate here: https://www.sslshopper.com/ssl-checker.html
