  4. Yes it is possible: Point a subdomain to a different Squarespace site When you point a subdomain from one Squarespace site to another, Squarespace handles it like a third-party domain. This means you’ll use DNS records to connect it to the second site. Start with the site you’re pointing from. Open Advanced DNS settings for the root domain that you’ll add the subdomain to. From the Add Presets menu, select Subdomain. Enter the new subdomain name, such as blog or store, then click Add. Go to the second site where the subdomain will point. In the Domains panel, click Use a Domain I Own. Enter the full subdomain. For example, blog.yourdomain.com. Click Connect From Provider. Select Other as the domain provider, then click Connect Domain. From the DNS Settings panel that appears, copy the unique code from the Host column. Return to the first site’s Advanced Settings. Scroll down to Custom Records to create a new record. From the Record drop-down menu, select CNAME. In the Host field, paste the unique code. In the Data field, enter verify.squarespace.com Click Add, then click Save at the top of the page to add the record. Return to the second site. In the Domains panel, disable the WWW prefix for the subdomain. Test the connection by entering the subdomain in an incognito window.

  12. Hey Logang, try using this bit of CSS to remove the sidebar: body.cart #sidebar-one-wrapper { display:none; } All the other items are a bit more complicated. It doesn't look like they're using a default class naming convention with random classnames. But these bits of CSS might do the trick: /*Borders*/ body.cart .cart-container .qrq0lfTEB{ border-top: 1px solid white; border-bottom: 1px solid white; } /*Label Fonts*/ body.cart .cart-item-list-labels { font-family: 'El Camino' !important; }

  23. Site URL: https://www.lightbulb.com.au/home I am using a code block to embed an animation for the title page and am having a few issues: Layers: I need the text "connecting people to purpose" and "and strategy to execution" to sit neatly when switching to mobile. Currently the "strategy to execution" part drops off under the animation background. I think that's because the code block is currently inline with the text so pushes the text when re-sizing, but not sure how to fix. In my mind if the animation background sat on z-index:1 and the text sat on z-index:2 it would work, but the column of text still gets pushed Parallax: I have done some research into parallax for images but am unable to replicate that with this animated effect because it isn't able to be coded in as 'background-attachment: fixed' Cover page: The main goal is to have the entire screen taken up by this animation and the words on load. Then as you start to scroll the header menu appears. Currently I can't get the menu to appear only on scroll. I also can't get the animation background to appear as the exact same size of screen (especially when moving between ipad and phone size) even though I'm using 'height: 100vh;' Any help would be much appreciated! 27. I think this comes down to creating content that provides value and depending on your audience, helps them solve a problem or answer a question. When I create content for my website, I try to be mindful of keywords and what I may want to rank for, but ultimately I don't want to create something just for the sake of SEO. So, I write something with the idea that I want it to be helpful (free guides etc) and if it gets backlinks, that's an added bonus.

  30. you may need javascript to do this, add this to Advance-Code Injection <script> document.addEventListener('DOMContentLoaded', function() { function insertAfter(referenceNode, newNode) { referenceNode.parentNode.insertBefore(newNode, referenceNode.nextSibling); } insertAfter(document.querySelector(".header-actions-action--cta"), document.querySelector(".header-actions-action--social")); }); </script>

  32. I like to take on a mindset of these three concepts: Expectations, Transparency, and Overdelivering. Setting expectations with your clients means clearly describing the normal course of doing business with you. What does your processes look like? Timeframes? What is inside and outside of scope? What is expected of your client? What will delay delivery of a successful outcome? Communicating expectations allows you to exceed expectations. Transparency is being open and honest with processes, pricing, and the limits of your services. Communicate often. Own up to mistakes immediately and address them. Be open about potential conflicts or differences of opinion with your client. They will thank you for your honesty and will likely be happy to find a win-win solution. Overdelivering is another key that will set you apart. Again, clearly communicate outcomes, and don’t over promise, even if you have the best intensions. Always provide something extra: Beat a deadline, provide extra copywriting or images. Add an extra set of revisions. It might be expensive or time consuming to prevent an unexpected problem. But if you wait for a problem to happen, the costs are dramatically higher, and could even cost you a customer. Use these concepts and add them to your strategy. This will compliment what @christyprice recommends: automate processes, and remove yourself as a bottleneck.

  33. Hi all! I thought I had to use microdata tags as well and was losing my mind trying to correct the errors by hand. However, I then set up my catalog through bulk upload with a scheduled feed. In Squarespace, go to Marketing > Facebook Pixel & Ads, and copy that URL. Use that as the data source. Everything uploaded for me nice and neat, no more errors! These are the articles that sparked my revelation: https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/360001257067 https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002041068

    Site URL: https://www.atlas.dental I have a website www.atlas.dental that performs pretty well on the SERPs but could use improvements. These are the problems that I have identified: 1) Eliminating the Cumulative layout shift (CLS) problem 2) Decreasing time for First Contentful Paint and Largest Contentful Paint 3)Eliminating render-blocking resources problem 4)decreasing the total size of the website to load 5) Remove unused javascript I am looking for some direction with whom to talk to about fixing these problems. Are they easy to fix on a Squarespace platform?

  36. Currently the only way for clients to add multiple appointments is to choose "add a time" from a drop down menu they see after selecting a day and time. So far I have asked 3 people to perform this task as a test with the only instructions being "Use this page to schedule 3 future appointments" each one of them have failed to notice/use the "add a time" option and none of them could figure out how to add more dates without first entering credit card information and then starting the whole process over again. These people are not stupid. Can there please be a more obvious "continue booking" option PRIOR to them having to enter credit card information? OR have appointments placed in a shopping cart type function that they checkout from all at once?

  37. You can rename the labels used on this page; I've changed the text to things like "Finish and Pay" "Book this and another", "Book a recurring session", etc. with some success. The issue I had was that when the users clicked "add this and another" they then didn't realise they could click the calendar again. I changed the "Continue" button to "Finish and Pay" to make it really clear and added instructions in a text box above the calendar; not very elegant but better. I suspect that some custom development to add a pop-up which asks "do you want to book another? Click the calendar again!" or similar...hopefully this might help. M

  38. HERE'S THE SOLUTION: In Google Analytics create a new property. In the new property setup panel there's a link "Show Advanced Options" at the bottom. In Advanced Options there's an option "Create a Universal Analytics property". Using this option will give you the option to either create both a GA4 and a UA id in which case it creates 2 properties and links them or you can just create a single UA id.

  39. Same question here! I think every Squarespace site has this problem: the homepage URL is redirected to the domain URL www.example.com/homepage -> www.example.com It works well, but the homepage URL still stay in the sitemap. It seems that GSC manage it well (and redirect the page), but is there a way to fix this error? Has this an impact on SEO? Thanks in advance!

  40. I really have to say, so far I am tremendously disappointed with SquareSpace 7.1, its an absolute nightmare to do any customization, and basic things just don't work/aren't user adjustable. Combing though 1000's of lines of CSS to change the speed of a slide show are crazy, especially when it doesn't work on a second slide show because a setting or two is different. I've already spent about 4 hours today trying to get anchor links to work correctly because there are no more section ID's assigned when the page is generated.

  41. OKAY! I found out how to do what i want to do. Maybe there's an easier way, but my way involved code boxes. So i had to say goodbye to the gallery block... It was a bit repetitive to do it 24 times, but once i found a rhythm it really didn't take much time. I essentially utilized the answers provided here: https://answers.squarespace.com/questions/67508/popup-window-with-text.html so thank you @kenwestphal! Step 01. Insert the following into the code injection area of the advanced tab of the page you wish to utilize the pop-ups: <link href="//cdn.rawgit.com/noelboss/featherlight/1.3.2/release/featherlight.min.css" type="text/css" rel="stylesheet" title="Featherlight Styles" /><script src="//cdn.rawgit.com/noelboss/featherlight/1.3.2/release/featherlight.min.js" type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script> Step 2. Now you need to create two code boxes. Code box 01 - For Display (this is your image or text that will show on the page) <a href="#" data-featherlight="#bio-name"> <img src="image link goes here"</a> <p style="text-align:center; color:#727272;">Text Goes Here</p> Step 03. Code Box 02 - For your Bio/pop-up Window <div style="display:none;"> <div id="bio-name"> <h3>Header/Name</h3> <p style="font-family:Lato; font-weight:500; font-style:normal; font-size:12px; letter-spacing:.4px; line-height:2.18em; color:#999999;" !important> Text goes in here. </p> </div> </div> (Play with the CSS styles to customize it how you see fit.) Step 04. Advanced Styling in Custom CSS For me, I just wanted to set a max width, so i added the following to the Custom CSS tab (Design>Custom CSS) .featherlight .featherlight-content {max-width: 500px;} BOOM. I had to repeat steps 2 & 3 a few times (24, actually) to set up my page, but it got me the result i was looking for. Check out my finished result at http://vancouver2017.com/speakers/#pechakucha I'd love to hear any feedback or ways to make this easier in the future. Cheers,Brendan
