    Limitation of Customization

    @ElizabethJ Squarespace is a website builder platform, not hosting. This offers many advantages over WordPress and the like, but there are some limitations as a result. In terms of code, you can add frontend code using JavaScript and CSS, or turn on Developer Mode and build pages using JSON-T - losing all maintenance updates from Squarespace. You cannot amend backend code, which means you cannot fundamentally change the way Squarespace works. For example, you cannot amend the checkout or add alternative methods of payment to the built-in commerce features.

    I'm going to have many blog entries, and galleries. For organization purposes, I'd like to keep them separate. However, I want to display the "latest" few additions to the home page in a kind of "news feed" style using a summary block. I'd like to have the blog posts sprinkled in with the gallery images in this feed. Is there any way to add multiple sources to the summary block? I saw a similar question from 2016, but it was closed with no resolution. I hope that it has been addressed by now?

    Free gift & inventory

    I'd like a simple way to offer a free gift (premium) without having to offer a discount or do a work-around (but open to hearing what those might be). This would allow it to come out of inventory, show up as a gift on the order (vs. having to offer a discount).

    Batch update Product Pages?

    Sure Rachel, I've built similar solutions before. For example, you can create 13 profile pages, one for each artist. The first one can be called 'Ken-Rowe'. You put your content on the profile page exactly as you have it pictured in your screenshot. You add a tag or category of 'Ken Rowe' (or similar) to to each of his works ('products' in Squarespace terminology). Then you'll need some code that will detect when a product detail page is opened. It should then read the product's tag/category (eg 'Ken-Rowe') and then insert the content from the matching profile page into the bottom of the product detail page, where the additional information would normally appear. I hope that makes sense. -Paul

    Add to Home > Design > Custom CSS /* remove header */ body#collection-5dc099f9d2910734b3174bb3 header.Header.Header--bottom.Header--overlay { display: none; } /* remove top bar */ body#collection-5dc099f9d2910734b3174bb3 header.Header.Header--top { display: none !important; } /* remove footer */ body#collection-5dc099f9d2910734b3174bb3 .tweak-footer-show .Footer { display: none; }

    Unfortunately there is no way to bulk update the additional information section. You could possibly code a solution that would inject the information into each product page when a particular class is present. This would allow you to keep the information in the additional information section up to date without needing to edit each product individually.

    Favicon for my website

    The fav icon will eventually be indexed by Google and appear in search results. Have you submitted your website to Google via the Search Console? If not I would recommend doing that. https://search.google.com/search-console/about

    I agree that there should be a solution to this but unfortunately there isn’t really any work around. I guess you could build one with the Inventory API but it would be a lot of technical setup. The best advise I can give is to submit a feature request with customer care. https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

    Fullscreen Slideshow

    Henry, Give this a shot, inserted via Custom CSS: #collection-5dbeb8db6164d93f9b647c33:not(.sqs-edit-mode) { .sqs-block-gallery { width: 100vw !important; height: 100vh !important; position: fixed; padding: 0 !important; } #footerWrapper { display: none; } } Now, I didn't heavily test that, but it'll get you started. Keep in mind that the CSS is setup to only work when you're viewing your site outside of edit mode (not logged in). That way, you can still edit the gallery as you'd expect, but when visitors see the page, it'll be a full-screen gallery.

    @thecigarbible Wrap your code in div tag, then use CSS for div to create red border <div class="kl-frame"> <div class="kl-left"> <div class="star-ratings-sprite"><span style="width:90%" class="star-ratings-sprite-rating"></span></div> <div class="text-allign-css"> <p style = "font-family:georgia,garamond,serif;font-size:16px;font-style:italic;">Cigar Bible Score</p> </div> </div> <div class="kl-right">90%</div> </div> then add this CSS to Home > Design > Custom CSS .kl-frame { border: 1px solid red; padding: 10px; display: flex; justify-content: space-between; max-width: 200px; margin: 0 auto; }

    This is true, if the personal plan was started before June 2015. After that, the 20-page limit was removed.

    Remove Business Hours placeholder

    It's actually a lot easier than that. You can go to the Design section, then to Site Styles, then select the "Hours" on your page and then deselect the 'Show business hours' option!

    Hello I'm looking to make secondly navigation text link visible when viewed on a mobile device. I've had a look through previous posts for guidance, to no avail, and hoping someone can offer assistance, point me in the right direction or offer alternatives. The link is to be pointed towards a contact page instead of the mobile accordion. Template is Brine. Many thanks, Callum

    Great use of the accessibility attribute 🙂 It's an unfortunate setting for a Squarespace demo! They've set MOBILE: CART to Position: Hide in Site Styles.
  32. 1 point
    Something simple like this should work: .Cart[aria-label^='0'], .Cart:not([aria-label]) { display: none; } Let me know how that works for you. It's not something I heavily tested. If it does work, it could be modified using opacity and transitions instead. Using the demo site, there was no link to the checkout at any point in my mock-shopping. -Brandon

    Try somthing like this in your custom css @media only screen and (max-width: 640px) { .sqs-slice-group.group-copy { padding-top: 147px; } } Then play with the padding-top value to get something that works well across mobile devices.

    Amazon Pay Please??

    You’ll need to submit a feature request with customer care. But given how long it took just to get PayPal I wouldn’t hold your breath. https://www.squarespace.com/contact

    CSS affecting mobile version

    You can create different CSS for different screen sizes - just place the CSS code this way in the Custom CSS Editor: @media only screen and (max-width: 3000px) { /* place CSS for desktop */}@media only screen and (max-width: 1000px) { /* place CSS for smaller screens}@media only screen and (max-width: 480px) { /* place CSS for mobile */} You can have as many sizes as you want – you can check how your site behave just by changing the size of your browser’s window. It works this way, if you create custom CSS it alters default settings, so if you leave mobile settings empty it will change nothing. So if you want to change only desktop version it should look like that: @media only screen and (max-width: 3000px) { #logo { width: 100% !important; /* Use the padding shorthand */ padding: 172px 50px 169px 50px; margin: 0; }}@media only screen and (max-width: 480px) { …}
